Thanks, and how are you doing? Was your visit yesterday just a routine follow-up?
Topic: RE: Hows the lap banders doing?
Hi, So far I'm doing fine. Ofcourse, it's only been 3 days since my surgery. My tummy still feels hard and full of gas at times so I take a walk. That helps a lot. Other than that, I'm doing fine. I'm getting in my fluids and liquid protein. Seem to be ready for bed by 8:00 at night, though. Just trying to walk as much as possible.

Good for you!! You are doing great. I am three weeks now and lost 23 lbs. I lost 19 lbs the first week and now it looks like I am stopping just a little. I need to up my foods a little and excercise. I don't know how much more excercise I can take because I thought I was excercising enough.
Well keep up the good work.

Heather, good luck on going back to work. I'm really glad to be in a routine again. I had my follow-up visit with the surgeon this morning, and he said I'm doing great and keep it up.
Thanks for the encouragement!

But hey I have waited this long..... I pray you find comfort in knowing what you are doing is something that will postively benefit you and those around you. For you to have made this decision means you are ready for a change. OK so GET READY GET SET GOOOOOO. Off to your new life. Congratulations to YOU!!!

Topic: RE: Pain in left side

I had my surgery July 22nd. I still have pain on my left side, and also infection where my g-tube
was. I had it lanced to let out the infection 3 weeks ago, and took anti-biotics for 2 weeks. The
problem let up for awhile, and now its back again, oozing and pain. I am back to the doc
again today. I had loads of complications during surgery. So I am considering myself
lucky? For now, its hoping the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train. (famous saying from
my wife). Always get an expert opionion whenever there is something just not right. I have also
visited my regular doctor too, just to make sure. Major surgery is nothing to sneeze at.
Expecially when my body has been raked over by age and diabetes.
Take care of yourself.

Thanks for the post! I am sleeping in a recliner becuase it is so painful to get in and out of the bed. Today I am going to stop taking the Loratab and just try Tylenol. Good luck to you also! I just need to be patient becuase I am sure every day I am making progress!

Thanks for the post! I am actually sleeping in a recliner becuase it is difficult to get in and out of the bed. Today I am going to stop taking the Loratab and just try Tylenol. Sorry about the infection, I hope it heals soon! You are right, I need to just take one day at a time becuase it will get better!
