Topic: RE: Pain in left side
Thanks for the advice! My pain is in the lower left side. I will try the heating pad. It is the only pain that I have had so far. I am feeling great besides the pain!

I had no sugar added applesauce before I was advanced, and it was exactly what I needed. I didn't get sick at all, and I felt like I ate something. I only tried this a couple days before I was advanced.

Topic: Home, and it went wonderfully, thank goodness
I just wanted to let everyone know I was home and doing great, i was actually released yesterday but didn't log on. My surgery was picture perfect and i had.........unbelievably, no pain and never any gas. I was groggy and sore, but they had me up and walking from the first afternoon and I knew the more I walked the better so just did it, and did it ALOT, and NEVER got any gas, period. I also had a wonderful team of nurses, and just had such a nice exerience, they put me in a private VIP room just because, and I had lots of quiet when I needed it and then just the nicest people around me.
The SECOND day was more of a painful day, since the anesthestia had pretty much worn off and it was more sore, but again, kept up the walking. The ONE thing I had was nausea, which struck INSTANTLY. whoa milly.........out of the blue and call the nurse, then a shot in the iv and I was fine.
I came home ON TIME, and with little pain. I consider myself so lucky to have had so little problems except hospital insomnia, which is normal. I was ready for much more pain and much more ............discomfort and gas. The tiny hiccups were a shock too, but they don't last long but manage to get my attention.
Anyway, thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I am happy to be able to tell everyone it went so well.

Me too, it seems like all I do is put things in my mouth, protein, vitamins, water.....ugh. I never thought this would be coming from me, but I am so sick and tired of eating and drinking. I had surgery on 9/15 and it has taken until the last two days for me to get all of my 60 grams of protein in, but I only get about 24 oz of water in....yet I am still trying. On a good note, I was so happy to have an opportunity to actually go out and do a 20 minute walk all by myself!!!!! YEAH

Hi Whitney,
I am from Australia. I had my surgery on 23 Sep 2008. I was in hospital for six days. I am home now. I am so good i am eating too well i think. I don't feel very full and eat about 1 and a half cups full of food at each meal. I posted a message on the board about this as i think i am eating too much. I don't feel totally normal but nearly there. Wonder if the doctor really did do the surgery????? lol

I had surgery on the 23rd of September and I feel wonderful!! I am already back to college but I am holding off on work for a month. The only problem that I have noticed is that I have been really out of breath. More than before I started losing weight!! Anyone ever have this problem??

I had surgery on the 24th. Is the pain right under your left brest and close to the opening of your rib cage. I'm sure you know this, but for me the pain is from where they took that top part of my stomach and stapled it closed.
Put an ice pack over the whole area that hurts it should help you alot. I am always putting an icepack on my stomach it seems to sooth it. I was told to put a heating pad on the lower part if I have pain where my new stomach and intestines narrows. That too has helped.
Besides this pain have you been feeling alright?
