I had trouble with liquids for the first week and also a bit with acid. Both are getting better with time.

I had a sleeve which has a slightly longer recovery time than a band and I had a hiatal hernia repair which also adds to the recovery. And I didn't have it that bad!
I could walk around from the beginning, but sometimes I had to clutch around my waist on the right side because it felt like my insides were trying to escape. If I had had more pain or it covered a larger area, I would have walked around with a pillow clutched to my middle, like I did when I had open gallbladder surgery.
I could sleep in my bed if I had two pillows instead of one. I still need a second pillow once in a while at 2.5 weeks out.
I really used my painkillers though. I think that helps a lot. Whenever my insides started to feel "fragile", I would be sure to take some pain medicine so that I could do what I wanted/needed to do.
