Topic: HELP!!!! DOES ANYONE GET CRAVINGS??? B/C I DO!!!

I HAD SURGERY ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2008. WELL, AS OF YESTERDAY, I HAVE BEEN CRAVING CHEESE!!!! IT MAY BE ALL MENTAL, BUT I REALLY WANT SOME CHEEZ ITS, OR ALFREDO SAUCE...SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I AM GOING TO ADMIT THAT I DID WARM UP A CHICKEN ALFREDO "SMART ONE" TV DINNER AND ATE THE ALFREDO SAUCE OUT OF IT ( I KNOW, IM GREEDY...BUT I COULD NOT HELP IT). MY DOCTOR STATED THAT I COULD START ON MUSHY FOODS STARTING MONDAY, BUT I DONT KNOW IF I CAN WAIT THAT LONG.

ALSO, EVERYTHING THAT I AM DRINKING OR EATING IS GOING DOWN FINE. IS THAT RIGHT??? IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE ABLE TO EAT OR DRINK WHATEVER THEY WANT WITH NO PROBLEMS AFTER ONLY 2 WEEKS???? PLEASE ADVISE ME BECAUSE IM FEELING LIKE A REAL LARD BUTT! LOL...

Topic: Scared to move to mushies
So I'm supposed to be on "thin" liquids for 2-3 weeks. I had surgery two weeks ago this morning. So I *could* start with mushies today. I feel great. Everything I eat goes down. There is no reason not to.

But I keep talking myself out of it. I was going to have oatmeal for breakfast but decided I didn't want to worry about driving into work (if it disagreed with me). Then I was going to have something for lunch. But decided that being at work was probably not a good idea. Then I was going to have the oatmeal for dinner. But now I'm battling acid which makes it hard for things to go down and I'm having second thoughts again.

A few days ago I would have *killed* for some scrambled eggs and cottage cheese and now I'm too scared to have any.

Am I nuts??

It only hurts to drink when you gulp your water.  You should only take sips at a time.  If you do this constantly you shouldn't feel thirsty.  Waiting to feel thirsty makes your gulp water because you need it right away.  You should also try changing the temperature of your water to either really cold or hot like a tea and see if this makes a differance.

I don't have this problem..but I have heard that temperature can be the culprit as well. Try changing the temp and see if that helps.

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

I had the same thing for about 3 weeks. At times it was unbearble, but it does go away! 'hang in there and make sure you are not trying to do to much.

I can start mushies tomorrow and I *can't wait*. At this point I would kill for some scrambled eggs and cottage cheese!
