Since my pre-op on September 2nd, I have lost 40 pounds. I just love my RNY!! : )

How about going back to the liquid stage? Protein shakes, broth, cream soups, that sort of thing. It might help if you make sure to measure? Being 2 weeks post op, it's the only thing I could think of - sorry! Sandi
I am jealous of your drive to work out, even if you aren't getting all that you want you still are doing a good job!
I have read a couple people that eat poke after surgery. That has to be so good for you, but I am surprised that you can eat it after surgery due to the rawness (possible bacteria) and the newly healing pouch. I know you are from HI, this is probably something you have always eaten, so maybe that is why you can handle it. I do not think I could right now that is for sure. Plus we do not have the freshness you have there!

That is a great idea about what you offered the kids! What a great way to get them excited and even involved in your wt. loss goals.
I am going to go try Zomba this week (in the back of the class because I know I will have to stop a lot), I am very excited to hopefully be able to start dancing again. That is something I loved doing before I hurt my back. I will have to take it easy still because of my back, but I think with less and less wt. it may become less painful to rebuild those muscles.
Congratulations on your 1 month surg-anniversary!

I had RNY on 9/18 and I feel hungry. I can't eat very much, but I do definately feel hungry at times. Other times I just could not eat at all. I guess it is just a matter of listening to your body and figuring out the tool we have been given...
Good Luck!

I have always been somewhat bored by food. I want to eat it and be done with it. I don't like to sit down and just eat a meal. I always want to do something else too. Spending 20 min. eating seems like a waste. I need to visiting with people or on the computer getting something else done too.
So I guess I need to change my attitude about that.

Just go slow! That is my biggest problem is that I can't seem to go slow enough. So, yesterday I ate 2 bites of chicken salad (chewed the heck out of it) and then stopped for a few minutes, then took another bit, then repeated the process. I have to walk away or be doing something with the food over to the side of me. It is weird! I was always a fast eater, so my slow is never slow enough!
It does hurt like hell when I eat too fast! I am on stage 3 and yesterday was only the 2nd time I ate something besides cottage cheese, yogurt or shakes and it did not hurt! You will get there.
About the oatmeal tasting bad... I have not tried it, but things will taste better on certain days to me. Over all nothing tastes "fabulous" yet! The best thing I think I had was 2 saltines with some humus on them. That was pretty tasty, but I have shied away from anything with carbs, because I was a carb addict and I want to give my body a chance to get off the carbs so that when I go back to a regular diet that is not what I am always grabbing for!
Do not be scared... it is a huge brain game. This is all such a trip, but is worth it!
Good luck!

I had the Realize band surgery on September 29th and have been on liquids ever since, per my doctor's instructions. I'm finally starting to feel hungry. Tonight I made my dh a potroast and I ate a soft roasted carrot. I mushed it real good in my mouth and it went down fine. I feel so quilty but I'm wondering why I'm hungry. Is anybody else having these problems?
