I think the thing that may help the most is putting the scale away!!! I really struggle with checking daily and then finding myself disappointed with my progress. I definitely share your frustration, but I try to remember that at least the scale is going the right direction!!!

What do you do when you hit a plateau? I was dropping weight just fine then I hit 250 and spent 2 weeks going between 249 and 251. I finally broke though (wish I knew how) and now I have spent a 2 weeks going between 244 and 246. Is there something I can do or do I have this to look forward to every 5 lbs or so? It it SOOO frustrating..... I get my 2nd fill on Monday. Maybe that will jump start me again?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.....

Hi everyone,
I had my surgery on 9/17/08. I lost 26 pounds before the surgery, then lost 15 pounds the first two weeks and 15 pounds more in the past six weeks. I didn't expect it to slow down that much and that fast. I'm trying not to be discouraged though, I've read so many times that it's normal. I feel like I'm doing pretty well overall but could definitely do better. I take most or all of my vitamins daily, I eat well but don't know if I'm getting enough protein, and I know I'm not getting enough water. Frankly, the fact that I'm making good food choices and haven't eaten the wrong things (except one meal two weeks out that helped me learn so much that it was worth the horrific pain that lasted 24 hours) is amazing to me. I simply couldn't have done this without the surgery.
I went to the Houston Obesity Help conference today which was enjoyable and informative.
I'm really loving being smaller, wearing smaller clothes, being able to move around more easily, etc.
It's inspiring to read everyone's stories. Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments!

Hello Everyone,
I am Karen and I live in Washington State. I am 6 weeks out and have lost 52 pds (20 pre-op) but I have been in a stall twice already. The funny things is I am reading all the tme that this is normal, but it feel so crazy and even frustrating. My co-workers tell me I melting before their eye, however I don't really see it yet. My face is smaller...but could I loose some of this muffin top. This journey is definately a challenge, but it is nothing that I can't handle. Best to luck to us all...talk to you soon.

Hi Gang, I am in NJ and I am eight weeks out on Monday. I am down 64 pounds with 14 of that from pre-op...so basically I'm down 50 pounds from surgery. But I still have a long way to go.
I go back to work Monday...yuck!!!

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey. I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.
My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once. I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.
