I was told I didn't have to count carbs from leafy greens. But it's too much work to separate them out so I just count everything.

I am doing the following, so far, for the month of Feb:

............... Avg/Day ... Range
Calories: .... 850 .... 779 - 974
Carbs: ......... 40 g ..... 26 - 47
Fat: ............... 30 g .... 16 - 39
Protein: ..... 101 g ..... 80 - 112

My weight loss is like a stair-step with every other week being a 1 lb. loss, but my average is around 2-2.5 a week. I haven't stalled either.

I find have to watch my carbs because when I eat more of them, I start wanting more, but also because they make my overall calories for the day go too high.

But you are doing great, so I'd only worry about it if you think you are on a slippery slope with carbs.

Thank you so much for replying Asia!!

Omgosh, I didnt even think about the good vs. bad Carbs! I just see Carbs and spazz! lol

Lets see....what did I eat that had the Carbs...
Protein Drink (Click)
Beans
Bread (okay I know, BAD!)
Kashi Go Lean Cereal (Not sure if that is bad Carbs)

So I guess its not too bad.

I just went to see my NUT last week and was telling her the exact same thing.  I was telling her that I can eat a lot more.  She was saying I have to eat more.  My metabolism is increasing because all of the exercise.  As for your Carbs are these good carbs like vegetables and fruits, and whole grains or are they bad carbs?  I actually think that you are doing fantastic.  If you are taking in bad carbs just change them into good and you will be fine.

When I first had my surgery I was really good at keeping an online journal of my food intake. But lately I haven't been doing it. So today I decided to input everything I ate to see how it looked.

My results are:
Cals: 894
Carbs: 98 g
Protein: 98 g
Those are the only numbers I really look at when it comes to what I eat.

After seeing this I can not believe how horrible my Carb intake is! MAN! Is anyone else's carb intake this high only at 5 months out? I can't say that my Carb intake is like this everyday, just today.

And it hasn't caused any stalls for me, I am pretty steady at 2 pounds a week weight loss.

Just curious.

Oh and Happy 5 months my fellow September's!!

I also had my gallbladder out pre-RNY, but my sister's was taken out at the time of hers.  Perhaps it's the pollyanna in me, but it's kind of lucky that you had to get the gallbladder out because who knows what kind of infection that tubing could have caused??  It may not seem like a blessing now (and I'm so sorry that you can't work out....that stinks) but I hope that it has prevented some pain in the long run.

Meanwhile, take care of yourself and congrats on your 72lbs!  That's AWESOME (and i'm a bit jealous...hehe)

I can see being angry about the tubing.

But the gallbladder stuff can be hard to stop happening. Most surgeons won't take it out at the time of surgery unless there is something wrong with it. But they will prescribe something to help keep stones from forming. It doesn't always work, but it's better than not doing anything. Did you at least get that?

I lost my gallbladder in '89 so it was all moot for me.

I had my RNY in September 2008 and have lost 72 lbs! This past week I had a gallbladder attack and  had to have removed yesterday, it was full of little stones.  I am just wondering if most of you had yours taken out at surgery time or if this is common?  I am a little angry about having 2 surgeries in 5 months and now I feel weak and yucky again, unable to workout.  The surgeon who took my gallbladder out also found some type of  tubing left from the gastric bypass, which he said I would have had to have another surgery to remove anyway....angry!!!

I was banded 9/23.  I lost 60 pre-op and 60 post op.  Still trying to get to optimal restriction.

I really need HELP.  I was banded on 9/24/08 and have only lost 21 lbs.  I don't know what you mean by following your "program" - I don't have a program and that's probably why I'm not doing well.  Also, I have a very cautious doctor and have only had one fill since my banding.  Can you give me any suggestions?

I know how you feel.  I have lost 70, and still need to lose 50.  I seem to want to cry everytime I get on the scale, it is either the same or I gained weight.  I think I have lost the same 2 lbs 15 times so far.  I go to the gym, not everyday, but several times a week....and I have been working hard on my eating.  Like you there are days when I seem to be able to eat and eat, others I can hardly eat anything.   I really wanted to lose another 20 lbs before my six months were up (since Dr. says that is the "window" for easier weight loss).   Seems everyone has lost more weight than me, but I am ok with that, as long as I can start losing again SOON!!!!!  I measure myself too, and no inches lost in a while either
