Wow, you look amazing!  Thanks for posting new pictures.  I have some on my profile.

It has been an amazing journey.  I am so glad I finally had the surgery.  It has not been hard and life is much easier!

Ok September Sumurais we haven't checked in for so long so lets see you guys and give us your juicy updates.

For me I am Asia from Hawaii.  I had surgery on 9/9/08.  This is my new birthday.  My life has totally changed.  I can run and play with my children.  I can move, breathe, and most of all shop.  I can run 3 miles now without stopping.  My main downfall is starting.  If I can get my running shoes on I am out the door.  I seem to always have excuses for exercise.  I have to make it a every day thing.  So here are some pictures from before and current.

HI TUSUN:  I JUST READ YOUR MESSAGE AND JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I TOO PANICKED A FEW WEEKS AGO AFTER LOSING WEIGHT, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED. BUT, I WAS NOT IGNORANT OF THE CHANGES THAT I DID, WHICH CAUSED IT TO SLOW DOWN.  I WAS LOSING ALOT QUICKLY, THEN WENT TO THE FITNESS CENTER AND BECAME DIZZY WHILE EXERCISING.  THE NUTRITIONALIST TOLD ME TO EAT MORE - WHICH WAS NO BIG DEAL AND VERY EASY TO DO AND I WENT FROM 600 CALORIES PER DAY TO 1100 CALORIES AFTER A FEW DAYS - SO EATING WASN'T HARD.... BUT IT SLOWED MY WEIGHT LOSS DOWN CONSIDERABLY UNTIL IT STOPPED.  THEN, I REALIZED THAT I WAS EATING MORE IN BETWEEN MEALS, KIND OF LIKE GRAZING AND I HAD TO STOP IT - SO NOW, I EAT MY 6 MEALS WITH LIQUIDS IN BETWEEN AND MAKE SURE MY PROTEIN LEVELS ARE HIGH BY EATING PROTEIN FIRST.  NOW, I AM LOSING WEIGHT BUT AT A SLOWER PACE.  SO, THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO CONTINUE - AND I ALSO STOPPED EXERCISING DUE TO HURTING MYSELF ON THE TREADMILL, AND NOW I NEED TO GET BACK IN THERE - BUT MORE CAUTIOUSLY.  SO, ITS A LEARNING THING.  I'VE LOST 105 POUNDS NOW SINCE SEPT. 2008 AND I FEEL GREAT AND STILL LOSING, ONLY BUT SLOWER.  BE ENCOURAGED. IT DIDN'T TAKE 8 MONTHS TO PUT ON THE WEIGHT, GIVE YOURSELF SOME CREDIT AND KNOW THAT YOU'RE BODY IS GOING THROUGH A LOT OF CHANGES AND YOU CAN DO IT.  GAIL

Good for you.  I am also 8 months but my loss is not as dramatic at 99 LBS.  My nurse says I should not be concerned because of my age (58)  I would lose slower than younger people.  I am still ectastic about my tranformation and look forward to reaching my goal.............

I still get shocked when I see myself sometimes. I was trying to find my pictures from an event where they were all in one big group and I kept clicking on pictures that were 30 lb. heavier than I am.

I actually try to do things to help my mental picture adjust though. Like when clothes shopping, I try to pick them by eyeballing them instead of looking at the tags. I have an okay idea of what size I am in clothes because I put on clothes every day. It's the big picture that still alludes me.

I thought a lot about what you said, and it makes a lot of sense  the "Internal eye" sees something different that what our true eye sees.  I remember when I was bigger and I would see myself in a picture or video I'd think I don't look like that?!   BUT I DID....

So how does someone reprogram their internal eye to have a more positive image?  Or do you just have to keep telling yourself it is wrong!!

Have you checked your calorie count lately?  I find when I increase my calories, I lose more.  It's hard for my mind to grasp that, but for me, it works.  I've also increased my exercise which definitely has helped this month.  Hope you're having a better month!!

Congrats!!  Our numbers are pretty similar~ 123 pounds lost since September, 150 pounds lost overall.  It is amazing how much better I now feel.  I am so thankful I finally made the decision to have RNY.  It definitely saved my life!!
