Hi Carol:
My name is Gail and I'm scheduled for Sept. 8th also!! I decided this weekend to try and eat better, cut the carbs, drink the protein drink and vegetables so that when Aug 28th rolls around it won't be such a shock to do this pre-operation diet.
I also decided 2 weeks ago to cut out the insulin, and cut out my pills for diabetes as well. As long as I don't eat too much carbs, my sugars are normal!!
But, If I could just quit eating, I wouldn't have any problems! LOL.
I'm a little nervous about how I'm going to do AFTER the surgery. I trust my doctor and nurses to bring me through the GYB with flying colors, but I'm really nervous about changing my lifestyle, eating habits and getting use to NOT eating, and then getting use to being thin for the first time in my life!!!

Topic: September 15th is my date
I am really nervous and excited at the same time. I am travelling to Florida from Michigan to have my Sleeve done at the Cleveland Clinic. I know I am in great hands but still am worried about the worst possible outcomes. I know all of the stats and I am in relatively good health despite the weight, so I know intellectually i have little to be concerned with. Thanks for taking the time to read and would appreciate any feed back. Michael F

Welcome aboard Gina. I also hang out on the LW board too. It is a very nice supportive place. I understand your being anxious. I went in Friday for my pre-op testing to the hopsital and hang a minor panic attack. It hit me, I am really doing this. I was just happy they didn't take my blood pressure!

I am planning on 2-3 weeks. My husband leaves on a business trip 10 days after my surgery and my step-mother will be gone too. So I will be on my own with my 10 year old and 14 year old. Since I work full time from home; I may work part time the third week just to catch up from email jail!

I'm having my PATs on August 28th, and my RNY bypass on September 8th. I'm learning a bit by browsing posts here on the forum. A bit anxious, but I supposed that is to be expected, so good luck to all. :cool:
