At this point, it's really going to vary. My program recommends staying under 800 calories until you are at goal but also says most people are on 1000-1200 by one year out. Since not everyone is at goal by one year out, that's a bit contradictory.

I am at goal and I also train for triathlons. So I am eating about 1200-1400 a day ... and still losing weight! I think I have to up my calories substantially or I'm going to be skin and bones.

I'm between 900 and 1200.  It seems that my calories are lower during the week when I work and higher during the weekends.

I eat anywhere from 1000 to 1200  calories when I eat the things I am suppose to however I don't always do that.  If I got down to 800 I am starving!!!

I had my surgery on Sept. 30th.  I started at 296 and I'm down to 181 (115 lbs. gone).  How many calories should I be eating a day?  I forgot to ask my nut.

I had my surgery on 9/22/08.  I'm down 88lbs.  And although the weight loss has really really slowed down I am still hopeful.  I am doing all the right things...... drinking lots of water, taking all my vitamins/medicines, eating alot of protein, and exercising four times a week.  This has been the best thing that I have ever done...... the BEST!!!!
Stay hopeful.  Your weightloss may be slow now but you will never let those pounds come back!

Hi , I'm Carla from Marietta GA.  I had my RNY on 9/2/2008.  I'm 3 lbs from goal...!  It has been the best thing ever...I am now doing things I never thought I'd do.  There has been so many changes, good changes thta it would take me a few minutes to even begin to touch on them.  Most of all, my health has improved 150% - I no longer have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholostrol, acid reflux, and liver disease, just to name a few.  From size 16/18 to 6/8 is awesome!

I'm so grateful to the Lord and my surgeon.

You have done WONDERFUL.  101lbs, WOW!!!  And you look fantastic.   I know it is hard for me to stay positive, but I really do try to listen to everyone around me, and not myself.   I am smaller than I have been in YEARS (Like 18 of em)  but I still get frustrated that I haven't been able to lose more...

I decided today that I am going to try not to stress over it, since I think stressing over it is what is causing me to not move on the scale.  I've set a goal to lose 5 - 10 lbs by my high school reunion on July 25th........But if I don't that is ok too!!!
