My list is tiny it seems but I am only in for 24 hours. so I will be taking:

-very loose sundress to wear home (no waste band)
-un flavored chapstick
-cell phone (to check on kids)
-Oasis mouth spray (help prevent cotton mouth)
-Mp3 player not my Ipod  (I am taking my 8year olds since it is not a real Ipod and if something happens it is only a cheap one so I can replace it with out tears)

My hosp. gives us robes and non slip slippers and when my sister had surgery she was way to out of it to read so I am skiping those items. I feel like I am missing stuff though.
I have never had surgery so I am just being a spaz I guess.

I started mine yesterday my surgery is September 11th.  My Dr. requires a two week diet also.  It their product we are required to eat.  It is all high protein foods which come in little packets and you add water.  There also some protein bars, soy snacks and ready to drink protein drinks.   However they told us we could have Jell0 sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello if they were under 15 calories.  So far so good.  I am still hungry some but drink alot of water to help out we have to drink 64 ounces a day;  I am afraid to cheat as we have to get weighed one week prior to surgery and if I do not loose I am afraid they will cancel the surgery.

You are SO not alone!  My date is Sept. 3.  I'm barely functioning physically due to this freaking liquid starvation diet. 

My husband hasn't been supportive at all.  He's been....well, just there.  He hasn't asked questions, just concerned about how things will affect HIM.  When I told him he'll have to get the kids up for school the rest of the week he said he "thought this was an outpatient thing." 

My boss is freaking out and stressing me to no end.  They're not getting a temp in and I've been working until 7 or 8 p.m. every night to get things as caught up as humanly possible.  I'm sitting here ready to pass out due to lack of food and she's barking at me.

When I get home at night I'm so exhausted.  It takes everything I have to drive home, shower and crash.  My house is totally trashed.  I pray I can get some cleaning in this weekend for post-op visitors.  My kids and husband are 100% lazy.

When I do finally crash....my mind is racing.  I can't stop thinking of everything.  Mostly "Please God, get me through these days before surgery.  I'm SO hungry!  Please make my liver shrink wonderfully and PLEASE make the weekend go quickly."

Sorry to vent on your post.    Just wanted you to know you're not alone!

ARE YOU PRESURGERY..I AM JUST STARTING MY TWO WEEK PRIOR TO SURGERY AND I AM LOOKING STILL FOR A PROTEIN DRINK I LIKE BUT WHAT ABOUT SLIMFAST OR CARNATION INSTANT BREAKFSAT.?? I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT? ALSO I WAS TOLD ALTHOGUH CHECK WITH YOU DR I COULD HAVE TOMOTOE SOUP PRIOR..GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW PERHAPS WE CAN HELP EACH OTHER..

Ha, ha!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I will definately be missing the kiddos especially the little guy.....he just turned 3.
