Yeah, I know what you mean,
First night of my diet, the husband eats a whopper right next to me.
Second day of my diet (yesterday), he brings home fried chicken
I took the plate out of his hands and put it in the kitchen and he said " I was eating that"
I said "Eat it in the kitchen, eating fried chicken in front of your starving wife is just RUDE"
Sometimes they just don't think.

Topic: Lap band surgery on 9/9/08!
Had my pre-op appt. today, everything is all set! I'm so excited, and my doc and his staff are wonderful and supportive.
I'm very cranky though, this is day 4 of my liquid diet that consists of 2 protein shakes a day and one meal at night, meat and veggies. Next week will be hellish, just 3 shakes a day,(did I mention that I can barely choke them down?), and clear fluids, please wish me luck with that! I=
It was very encouraging to see that I've lost 7 pounds since Tuesday...probably mostly water weight, but atleast all this starving is working!!
I know it's all worth it, and I'm just thrilled to be sharing a date with so many of you on here! Best of luck to everyone!!

Congratulations on your date! That is the same day as mine! I am also going through much of the same emotions that you are. Best of luck and keep us all updated on your sucess.

So sorry he was being like that, I can totally relate. I'm only 4 days in on my liquid diet and HUNGRY. My husband thinks it's okay to ? me on anything I put in my mouth. I was having tea and he's like 'are you allowed that'? Maybe it was just his tone, but of course I'm allowed it or I wouldn't be having it! It was the second time in like 15 minutes he was questioning me. Grrr, I'm probably being oversensitive but I'm not just a little cranky w/no food!
He's since been very nice and supportive, (I'm sure the bithching out he got helped). Hope your man falls into line and is the support you need! Good luck on the 3rd!

So I've been starving on liquids for a week now. Surgery isn't until next Wednesday. My husband calls me at work and asks "So you wanna go get some dinner?"
I asked him if he's TRYING to be a dick. He's so self-centered. If it isn't all about him, he doesn't THINK. I expect it from my teens, but not my husband.
He's going to have to get a new food buddy. It's the only thing that we ever did together...eat.

Girl I am with you on all of that. My hubby is totally clueless as well. I don't even count on him because he will forget or just not do it. Thank God for my Mom.
Just think it's Friday you'll be done w/ work soon, then you can focus on the house. One of my friends told me to just stop worrying and have the surgery. Once you get home they'll be forced to do for themselves.
Now all I have to worry about is the Hurricane expected to arrive in our area about the time of my surgery. Go away Gustav!

Your doc is nice the only thing we can have is 3 protein shakes a day. I am confused about the purpose though I thought it was supposed to help you lose weight around your liver? I wondered if maybe that was where your body lost weight first? I better learn to ask more questions!
