Are we newbies?
On another board here at OH, someone posted that the old-timers need to post more. A bunch of old-timers came out of the woodwork to post. But so did a bunch of people around 6 months out! Also, there is an OH group I've heard of for "old-timers" that you get invited to once you are 6 months out.
So, now that we're around 6 months out (give or take), do you still consider yourself a newbie or do you consider yourself an old-timer?
I will go first...
Compared to a pre-op, yes, I feel wise and experienced. As a member of OH for over a year, I feel like I am and old-timer as far as this board is concerned. But as a post-op, I don't feel like I'll be an old-timer until I'm at least a year out. I'm not yet at goal, I'm still losing weight, and I haven't learned how to maintain yet.
What do you guys think?

I agree I am still a newbie but feel like a teenager. I will be a weightloss grad after one year. I still feel we need to post to those that are going to have surgery or just had because it is so fresh in our minds. I love to post pictures because pictures tell you a story and when I started out I just looked at pictures. I do love to blog now not just for myself but to show the pre-ops what to expect and what I am going through. I am not an exercise junky, I am young and still like to live life.
Mrs. Mac this was a great posting. You are awesome. I wish I could exercise as much as you.

You need to read "Shape Up with the Slow Fat Triathlete". She's a great writer and the whole book is about being as fit as you can in the body you have instead of being perfect. I just love her attitude toward exercise and life, too.
