Ok, So i had no idea about the surgery date Message board! Yay!...I am stoked because it is great to see how everyone is doing that had surgery the same time as me....I must confess I am feeling like a slow loser, but I know it will keep coming off...i have been in a stall for almost 2 weeks....any suggestions?

I too am in a stall - 2 weeks.  I was quite happy about my weight loss rate (about 70 lbs since surgery) but now I am worried about the slow down.   I've read all the posts about not worrying but I can't help it.  I see my calories creeping up over 800 some days, even to 1000 on two days.  I am going to the gym and riding the bike at home but I have a hard time getting in enough water.  I wonder how much that is mattering.  I try to stick with the WLS basics but the food at work (one small chocolate chip bar today) is tempting.   I guess 4 months ago I would have eaten multiple cookies though!!!

We all stall, change something up and it does help I think.  More protein, more water, and more activity can help.  Also, adding a day or two with some extra calories seems to work for me.

Renee you are not slow!  You are doing great!  It is so good to see that you found us over here!  We are not a super busy board yet, but keep checking back with us.

Take care,

Gina

You are doing great.  Stalls will happen.  I also notice that if I up my protein and water that I lose more.  If I eat less than 500 calories then my body goes into starvation mode and I lose nothing.
Keep up the good work.  You are doing great.

I started losing my hair pretty early. But I just found out my multi had no selenium in it. I switched it out and it seemed to help but now I'm losing hair again.

I find if I go much over 750 calories a day (on average), my weight loss slows down. I am working out like a banshee but it doesn't move the scale. I think it helps with the inches though and I've gotten so strong. Today, after doing 35 min. on the treadmill, I wanted to do another 20 on the bike! (But I had to go back to work.) Every day I set the machines higher too.

i'm in a stall too, so I'm right there with ya sister:-)  I hate it.  I'm working out 5-6 times a week for at least an hour each time but nothin's happening:-(  I keep trying to tell myself it will pass and to put the scales away but they just keep calling me every morning:-)

Anyway, welcome to the boards Rene!!

I'm with you sister. I had RNY 9/2/08...was 318 the day of surgery and now 244. I keep thinking I'm a slow loser but when i go to my support groups, I find I'm actually ahead of the game. Way to go!

I printed out the Possible Weight loss chart and I put it on my desk so that I know where I fall if I want to lose all my weight by the end of the year.  Even thou I have stalls I am still ahead of the game.  As of today the chart says that at 3 months I should be at 187 I was at 175 at 3 months.  This is actually the progress of 5 month out patient.  That means I am ahead by two months.  This chart keeps me motivated.

Good luck.

Where did you find a Possible Weight Loss Chart?

It seems like a lot of us are experiencing stalls at this time in the process.  Maybe its a natural stall place.
