Looking for others that had surgery on or around 9/25
Yes, I felt that way for a couple of days, but it gets better each day. You'll notice you have a little more energy and less discomfort each day - but remember to take it easy and don't over-do! Also, try as best as you can to get in all of the protein (that will help you regain strength and heal) and water.
My best wishes are being sent to you right now through this email!!!! ;)

Hi Whitney,
I am from Australia. I had my surgery on 23 Sep 2008. I was in hospital for six days. I am home now. I am so good i am eating too well i think. I don't feel very full and eat about 1 and a half cups full of food at each meal. I posted a message on the board about this as i think i am eating too much. I don't feel totally normal but nearly there. Wonder if the doctor really did do the surgery????? lol

Hi Carolyn!
One and a half cups of food per meal does sound like a lot. My surgeon said to eat 3 ounces of food each meal and take 5-15 minutes to eat 1 ounce. If you are eating liquids I can understand why they are going down so easily, but if you are eating soft foods (like eggs), they will probably stretch your pouch.
Since my surgery on September 24, I have had no hunger--some cravings, but no real hunger. I am currently eating one 3-ounce meal a day which usually consists of a little bit of egg and wheat toast. I also enjoy low-sodium potato soup, low-sodium V-8 juice, or low-fat cottage cheese. Most of my 350-400 daily calories come from my three protein shakes. Sometimes I add 1/3 banana to those.
Please check with your doctor about what and how much you should be eating. It makes me wonder if your surgeon supplied you with lifestyle instructions and diet beforehand. That has really helped me!
I wish you much luck in your weight loss journey.
Maureen :-)

Hi,
I had my surgery on the 25th of September also. Everything is going great!!! I was a little afraid of eating at first, but now I am fine with things. I haven't experienced the "dumping syndrome" yet or do I want to. I am down about 23lbs and loving it. Had my surgery done in Michigan, I am Canadian, a five year wait up here to have it done. Best thing that I have ever done to myself in my life.
Take care, hope to hear how things are going.
Jackie
