The Last Meal

I have done horrible on my liquid diet. The dr sprung it on me the day I quit smoking and so it was one or the other. Tomorrow I will eat my last real meal for some time and start the shakes. I have ordered Unjury but its not here yet. Does anyone know of any other protein drinks that are not disgusting? I have tried Isopure, Mix 1, Kroger Whey Protein and that stuff from GNC in the black and red jar. All were veryr hard to swallow.

ARE YOU PRESURGERY..I AM JUST STARTING MY TWO WEEK PRIOR TO SURGERY AND I AM LOOKING STILL FOR A PROTEIN DRINK I LIKE BUT WHAT ABOUT SLIMFAST OR CARNATION INSTANT BREAKFSAT.?? I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT? ALSO I WAS TOLD ALTHOGUH CHECK WITH YOU DR I COULD HAVE TOMOTOE SOUP PRIOR..GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW PERHAPS WE CAN HELP EACH OTHER..

I've been liquid dieting since Monday the 25th.  I couldn't tolerat the shakes my doctor recommended:  Atkins AdvantEDGE.  I puked them up.  So I'm on broth, jell-o, popsicles and decaf tea.  I'm STARVING.  I've been throwing in 1T. tuna, or 1 T. salsa to get something in me.  I'm so paranoid my liver won't shrink.

I started mine yesterday my surgery is September 11th.  My Dr. requires a two week diet also.  It their product we are required to eat.  It is all high protein foods which come in little packets and you add water.  There also some protein bars, soy snacks and ready to drink protein drinks.   However they told us we could have Jell0 sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello if they were under 15 calories.  So far so good.  I am still hungry some but drink alot of water to help out we have to drink 64 ounces a day;  I am afraid to cheat as we have to get weighed one week prior to surgery and if I do not loose I am afraid they will cancel the surgery.

Your doc is nice the only thing we can have is 3 protein shakes a day.  I am confused about the purpose though I thought it was supposed to help you lose weight around your liver? I wondered if maybe that was where your body lost weight first? I better learn to ask more questions!

I am Day 4 of my Pre-op Diet and I LOVE yes, I said LOVE my shakes.  They are the Premier shakes at Costco.  They only come in chocolate and they are $24.99 for an 18 pack.  They have 30g of Protein at only 160.  I drink 4 aday along with popsicles and jello.  I also ordered online the Protein Bullet which is a 4oz. packet of thick gooey protein kinda expensive at $33 for 12.  I also purchased Myoplex Lite from CVS or rite Aid or any drugstore a 4 pack for five bucks and its vanilla so light like water.  Goes down easy.  Please go to Costco first!!!!

 I tried the unjury shakes.....www.unjury.com.....they are great!!!! 

What do you add to the Unjury powder?  I the Atkins shakes and I'm on nothing but broth and Jell-o. DYING here. 

The RD told me they don't have as many carbs as Carnation so I should try the fruit flavor and add it to light V8 fusion. But the Chocolate and be added to milk and they have a chicken soup flavor that you just add warm water to.

I'm on day six of the pre op diet. Eight more to go. We have to do five Carnation Breakfasts a day and all sugar free liquids otherwise. No soup, just jello. It is keeping me functioning but just barely. I've lost six pounds but have no energy. If I don't space them exactly three hours apart, I get a killer headache and nausea. Sorry, mopey here. I don't know how I will get through another 8 days.
