Surgery date set! Sept. 2 WOW!
Whoo Hooo! Not much longer now, Lisa! Can you believe it less than a week???
I find it SO cool that we both will be having surgery on 9/02 and have the same first name and live in the same state!
I'm slightly nervous, but not much......my main concern is getting everything done at my job before I'm off for a couple of weeks, gettting the house in order and getting kids ready for back to school. I hate that I will be in the hospital the first couple of days the kids are getting back to school......it can't be helped, though. I just hope my husband survives the stress of it all.
Any one else having to do a liquid fast like me? I am on protein shakes, clear liquids and cream soups right now until the day before surgery. On Labor Day (no holiday party for me!) I will be on clear liquids only and have to drink something for a "bowel prep". Sounds throughly disgusting, but I guess its a means to an end and all the prep will make the surgery easier for the surgeon and safer for me. Anything to lower the risks of complications and infection. I've been severly infected several times after surgery and it is no fun at all.
Have a great day and looking forward to taking up less space on the bench too!!

I never leave the house w/o mint flavored Blistex so that will be easy for me to remember!
I won't be taking a whole lot. I'll take a pair of loose fitting shorts or pants to wear under my hospital gown. The nurse suggested that because we will be walking many times throughout the day and I don't like the idea of just having a hospital gown on. I'll be taking a book to read and my cell phone. Besides that I'm not really worried about taking anything else. My day to day life is insanely busy with working fullt time, long commute, 4 kids, a husband and a house to maintain.......I'll be happy to just sit and rest in the hospital! I might not want to come back home right away....
Just a few more days!!
