I feel your pain. Today is my last day to eat solid foods before surgery. I went to Subway because I know it's the end of the bread and have a candy bar in front of me. Tomorrow I start the liquids and tuesday is the surgery so tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life.

I start my liquid diet tomorrow for 2 days then surgery on tuesday. I'm not looking forward to jello, LOL

Why can't I control myself?? I just had my surgery on the 17th and I've been following my clear liquid diet but this evening I just couldn't take it any more. After less than a week!! I didn't actually jeopardize my health but I did chew some potato chips up and spit them out. Why can't I stop?? I felt SOOOO much better afterwards. I was just so tired of liquids. I kinda wi**** would have caused me some sort of discomfort at least. What's to stop me from doing it again??? Has anyone else done this??

Hi Teri, Just wanted to wish you good luck with your surgery! I'll be joining you on the loser's bench this Thursday, the 27th, so I'm right there with you with the nervous and excited thing.

Hi Linda, I was on the effexor XR which is the time release pill. There is the regular effexor which is a pill and would have to be taken a couple times during the day and can be cut up or crushed. Ask your md. I've been feeling so much better since surgery that I weaned myself off the meds. Good luck. Jessica

I have a date!!!
after many months of hoop jumping, like everyone else, I finally got my surgery approved and a date really quickly, once all the qualifying stuff was over it was only 2 weeks to get a date , which in this monday the 25th!!!I am happy, nervous, excited, ready to throw up and definately ready to not ever drink any more"nutritionally designed" shakes that taste like chocolate gravel!!I decided to have the RNY after long consideration, and I pray that I have made the right decision. being and RN, I have taken care of pateitns with complication from weight loss surgery and that makes me a bit more nervous, but I am still determined to change my life with the help of this surgery.
any helpful hints or prayers are welcome.

Hi Everyone,
I am almost 2 weeks out 09/10, surgery went good and each day I get a little stronger. I am still easily tired. I went to the store last weekend and hardly could get out to my car. I had to rest for a while before I drove home. I didn't realize it would wipe me out so much. I went to work for about 5 hrs yesterday and that did me in. I start moist and soft foods tomorrow, and I see my surgeon on Wed. and then I can start my vitamins. I am hoping I will get more energy back then. Any pointers out there on when you totally feel like yourself?
