Hi, Yes you should be able to take it after surgery. I take medications for my arthritis and I was able to take them as soon as I was able to take oral medications. Good luck with your surgery and when you're done I'll be happy to welcome you on the Losers bench

Tammy, I am with you 100% about going Skydiving. I do want to do this so much! I , am 63 yrs and I do not want to have to wait until I get 85 yrs. ( There was a lady who did this on her 90th Birthday) I am sure you have had your surgery by now. I am five and one half yrs post and I have lost 126 lbs and my previous wt was 242lbs. I now weigh 117lbs and my BMI is 21.3
Think I could go skydiving with you? I just might look into doing something like this on my 65th Birthday. There is still another whole year to dream about this adventure. Be sure to keep a journal, you will treasure it and it will be priceless in years to come.
Have a great Recovery! Relax! It is n't half as bad as ,you have got it into your mind.

Shirley, I discontinued all of my meds before my surgery. ( various meds were DCed upon the MD's orders. I had To stop my Voltaren for several wks. It amazes me, that I have been able to DC most of my meds. You will be allowed to have Anti-inflamatory meds , soon. Good Luck! Lynda Phillips

I do....just had my sugery on the 21st. It went a lot faster than I thought. I think I went in to my first meeting with AIGB in the last week of July, then got approval 1 month later. After that,...it was just a pre-op meeting with my Doc..then on to surgery!

Tannika, Have No Fear! I will be praying for you and I know my God is able and can have control of every move the surgeon makes. I am 5/1/2 yrs. post, 117lbs now. wt loss 126lbs. I am 63yrs old( surprise, surprise). My BMI now is 21.3. My GBS was done for so many health complications from Diabetes( Insulins dependent 5 Injections perday)Open Heart surgery,(5 Heart grafts) Need I go on and on!!! I had open RNY and I have had Hernia Repair 3'x and had tummy tuck when I had the first Hernia surgery. I would do all of it over again, if it was necessary!
I felt it was important that I give you this information to allow you to see that there is a wonderful, healthy life for you as you take this miraculous Journey.I know, you will be soo happy! Prayer for you tomorrow! Love, Lynda Phillips

Not sure if you are having bariatric or lap band.
I had lap band surgery on the 21st. I was in and out of the doctors office in 3.5 hours and I am doing pretty well. Two days after surgery was the worst....but still was not too bad. I did see that someone recommended flavored water, as regular water hurts their pouch. I'm going to do that tomorrow...as the water is kind of hitting hard....the protein drinks are actually easier for me.

Please do not fear! God will take care of you and guide your surgeon! I am living proof that Romans8:28 fulfills. I am 5 and a half years post. I am ,also 63 yrs and had my GBS in 2002. I started off weighing 242 lbs. I had open RNY. I now weigh 117lbs and my BMI is 21.3. I forgot to add, My height is 5'2. I have been fine since my GBS and would do it all over again every 6mos. if it was necessary. Before my GBS, I had sooo many health problems from Insulins dependence (5) injections daily, A Heart Attack, Open Heart Surgery (5) heart Grafts and numerous other health problems. I will ,promise you, You will be better each day after your GBS.

I have'nt got my date yet..one day soon i'll be where you are .But know that i'm praying for you ..as well as the surgeons....i pray that the pain would'nt be no more that you can bear ..keep your head up know that there is a brighter day waiting just for you
