Im doing 100% better. i literally have no pain except a little around one of my incisions. my hand where they put the IV in though, that hurts SO bad. I can feel exactly where the vein in and its so so sore.

Hi Everyone....I finally have a date!! It's November 28th and I'm really excited. I'm having my surgery at DePaul hospital by Roger De La Torre. It's still 2 months off.. The wait is going to be really tough. Any suggestions on how I can prepare for it?

Hi - I was banded on 9/12. My doctor's diet was 1 week full liquids, 1 week mushies, and then to progress slowly into real food again. I lost 10 lbs the first week, 3 the following week, and now I'm down another 2 (2 days into my 3rd week). If you're getting the small amount of calories that I'm restricting myself to (700-900) then you should be losing weight. I would say that your weight loss will slow down next week or the week after.....until then, enjoy the ride and be prepared to work hard and not gain it back once your hunger comes back. Apparently, there are very few people who have restriction before their first fill, but I'm on week 3 now and still forcing myself to eat....fingers crossed! Good luck!

Noticed your reply to my message and now your own questions. Nausea has not really been an issue for me but my surgeon sent me home with a med for nausea called reglan. I had it once while in the hospital and it worked fantastically. Do you have anything like that to try? Update on myself...much stronger and doing more everyday now. Seems like just when I was discouraged enough to ask everyone about it I turned a corner. In hindsight I think part of it was the transition off of the heavy duty pain meds...left me a little lightheaded. I also think even though I'm not hungry, I do much better when I eat regularly. I did get a tylenol tablet stuck once. Wow that hurt ! Hang in there.
