Good morning,
I had my surgery on 9-13 and have lost almost 23 pounds so far! I am so excited, yet I also know I am in for a stall here pretty soon!
Have a great Friday!

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
I am curious what surgery you had, When did you have it, and how much are you down???

Hi Rocco!
I am so glad your pain finally went away, that alone would make me exhausted and less than fun to be around!
Great job with the fluids, I wouldn't worry too much about the food part yet, your pouch is still healing and I understand that if you eat dense foods, you eat less of them.
20 pounds is awesome! especially since you lost so much pre-op.
Good luck and I hope you continue to feel good!

Pat,
Nice to meet you. WOW on the awesome progress you are making. I finally broke down and went to fitday.com and am pretty surprised how easy it is to track your food (also tracks your protein, carbs, etc) and excercize.
loose clothes are so cool!
Have a great day!

Topic: RE: HELP! NEED ADVICE!!
I had my open RNY on sept 6th and have been the exact same way. The first few weeks I had to go in and get extra fluids too. I am on Reglan which helps some but the last few weeks I have ate pretty much nothing. I continue to drink but only cuz I know I have to but I dont get in near what I'm suppose to. Next week they are going to do a scope to check my opening size to make sure that I dont have a stricture, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that with the scope they will find what the problem is and get it taken care of. I have lost 39 pounds and would love to be able to enjoy that instead of wishing I had never did this.
Topic: RE: OMG I am in so much pain
I would ask your PCP for another pain medication alternative. I am pretty sure liquid motrin is a "No No". I use to take motrin for back pain and was told after the bypass surgery I can no longer use Motrin.
Good luck in finding a remedy for your pain. I know it sucks to suffer in pain.

Hello Rocco,
3 weeks of surgery pain that sounds brutal. Sounds like you are doing good with your liquids though. I seem to be getting about 50 oz of liquid now and I know 64 oz would be much better.
I know what you mean about worrying if you are eating too much, I worry too. Even though I am barely eating anything it seems like sometimes I can eat more than a 1/4 cup and I worry about that.

Topic: RE: Drinking Fast
I highly doubt that drinking too fast will stretch out your pouch and do irreversable harm. If you drank to fast though and don't give each drink a chance to drain out of your pouch, then you may feel real nauseated and have it come back up. I was given no restrictions on how fast or how slow to drink liquids, only food was I told to take it slow, take small bites and chew them into oblivion before swallowing.
