Topic: RE: checking with with September surgeries
I am 3 weeks out today, surgery was 9/17. Only problems have been gas pains at night and getting water down. I'm trying any way I can to get my fluids in and feel less fatigued, so I guess that's working. I have a week and a half until I'm supposed to get back to work, but I honestly can't imagine getting up and getting out and back to my work schedule. I feel too tired for that! But, life goes on and I need to work!! You all sound like you're doing well. I'm thankful for no complications. My checkup is tomorrow, but I think I've lost close to 30 pounds. My home scale is so different from the Dr's, so I'll find out for sure tomorrow! Yesterday I got into a pair of pants that I couldn't zip up before, so I know that inches are going!! YAY!!
Best wishes to everyone!

Kim,
You are an amazing woman! I prayed for both you and your sister, I hope you do OK with all that is happening in both your lives. Please don't wear yourself out, you have to take care of yourself too.
Congrats on your weight loss, that is awesome!
Please keep us informed on how your sister is doing.

Tomi,
I am so sorry you had these problems up front, but am glad you are feeling better now. Don't be hard on yourself, if all you can do some days is get up and take your shower, congratulate yourself that you got that done!
You are going to do amazing, and you are right, it does get better from here!

Topic: RE: OMG I am in so much pain
I was told no motrin, no aspirin. Motrin was my wonder drug. It killed any pain I had in my back or legs or cramps. Now, I have to rely on tylenol!! Hoping the surgery will be taking care of the pain issues for the most part.
Please call your doctor and explain how you're feeling!!

Tomi, I'm sorry for all of your "side-effects." I, too, have had the fatigue. When I called my Dr.'s office, they told me to be sure to get in my water. I've been trying, but plain water will not go down! My pouch aches when I drink it, so I have to use broth and diluted apple juice or iced tea to get in my liquids. This part I am NOT enjoying. Other than that, I'm doing okay, but the dehydration seems like my problem. I try to walk every day, but like you said, sometimes it's a total effort to just get myself up and dressed. If I walk, I get exhausted, not pumped up like some people. In my support group, people talk about all the energy they have. I wish I could find mine!!

I find that skim milk does a number on me. In the past, if I was on Weigh****chers and had to have skim, the same thing would happen. SO, yesterday I finally got myself some Lactaid. It was a lot better last night. Misery loves company, I guess - it made me feel better to know I wasn't the only one with the nighttime gas problems. I was much better last night, but the protein shakes are getting me down...I'm sick of them!!

Topic: How many inches?!
Hi all,
There was great response to the post on how many pounds we have lost, so I thought I would make it a bit more real to all of us and ask how many inches have you lost so far. For all of you who are thinking "what am I doing wrong" or "how come I'm not losing" this is a much better way of tracking your success. Your body is changing, even if you don't see it on the scale.
I haven't measured since two weeks out, but at that time I was down 9.25 inches overall!
Come on out and celebrate your successes! This surgery IS going to work for all of us, regardless of what the scale says!
