Topic: Weekly weight Loss
Hi September losers,
I just popped into the August loser forum and saw they do a weekly weight loss post and thought it might be fun to get one going here for us.
I will start.
Surgery date: Sept. 10
Weight on Surgery Day: 305 lbs
5 Week Weight: 273 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 32 lbs
I find I am really slowing down. Getting 1 or 2 lbs a week. It is kind of frustrating.

I've been lucky, I have not had that problem yet! Of course there has not been much cooking going on here!

Sometimes the smell of food makes me want to be sick? Anyone know why or have this happen to them?

Hi,
I am 4 weeks out and have lost 27 pounds, most of the 27 was in the first two weeks. I was on my period for 13 days and only lost about 5 puonds total in the seconds two weeks. I am getting a little frustrated, however I am told that after around 30 pounds you will hit a bump in the road for a couple of weeks and then you will start losing again. I sure hope I start losing again soon. I am also struggling to get all of my water and protein in during the day. Do you think that is why I am stuck? I am having a hard time just getting in 32 oz. The only way that I am able to drink a protein shake is to blend in 1/2 a banana. Any ideas on how to get in more fluids/protien? I feel like I am full all day and I dont drink like I should. I have all the crystal light flavors and I also drink plain water, I just think I am bored. I was a diet pepsi junkie. I dont miss it but everything else is just blah!

I am sooo excited. Today is exactly 4 weeks out and I just had a saltine cracker with turkey and chees. I can't believe how good it was I haven't been back to my surgeon since my one week but I am down a little over 27 pounds. I am still struggling with getting all my protein in daily but I just keep trying.
Topic: I am feeling that I will sabbatoge my tool.
I have heard from others stating that nerve endings have to heal before you can feel fullness. Well I cannot wait til I feel full. I am afraid that I will sabbatoge my pouch before the tool starts working. It's not that I think I am eating more than the allowable calories, it is the choices I am making lately. What is your take on ww meals, lean cusine, and other frozen weight loss/management meals? These have been the choices I have relied on since my return to work. I get bored easily with foods and needed some new choices. I do not measure my intake when eating these meals. However, I have not eaten the entire portion given at one meal. I eat all the protein and divide the noodles or what ever carbs to last more than one serving. I am not sure how much fat intake I should be getting. Anyone know what is really considered low fat? Or how many fats we should be consuming? Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Holly,
I had my surgery on 9-12-07. Visit to my surgeon 28 days later showed that I am down 26 lbs. My biggest surprise was my being tired also. I often miss breakfast and start my day with lunch. Or I did til going back to work this week. Since it is the weekend, once again I missed breakfast.

Hello Sept. SuperStars!!!
I had my surgery 9/25 and had my MD follow-up visit on 10/11 and am down 6 pounds. however I am down 48 pounds since Feb. 07. I have had a a great recovery and have been walking 2-3 miiles a day since Day 6 Post-op. I will return to work next week. I am working to not be a "Slave to scale" amd weighing only once a week as my clothes are getting bigger and I feel AWESOME!!!
My biggest surprise is how difficult it is to fine something I like to drink. My pouch if "Fussy" although I am getting in my 64oz in, I can feel every sip that hita my pouch. I have found that warm drinks are suiting me better. I usually drink warm water. I was a huge crystal light drinker of all flavors pre-op, but nothing grooves me now.
Good luck to everyone and Be kind to your Tool!!!
Jackie

It was around the third week out that I didn't lose any weight at all. I was totally frustrated. I just stayed with what I was doing, and it did eventually start again.
Hang in there!

Hi,my name is Justine and live in St. Augustine Fl. I had my surgery on Sept. 26th. I'm
17 days in,have lost 11 pounds, and I guess I'm crazy too!!!!!!! I am still hungry. I've purchased Egg White Protein Powder to add to soups and things suggested by my dietician. It seems to help my hunger for a little while longer. Do you still have Cravings as well?? Even though I stayed with the pre-op food diary "rules" I still would love to have Taco Bell wit mild sauce!!!
I know I really need a Support Group, Especially NOW!! I'll keep looking. Thanks for listening.
