Topic: I can't seem to eat anything
I am now about 5 weeks out. Everytime I eat anything I get the spit ups for a better word. It's like if I burp water comes up and my stomach pains. Does anyone else have this?

Hello everyone.
Thought I would chime in too.
I had RNY on 9/25/07
Weight 3/1/07: 269 lbs
Weight 9/25/07 227 LBS---(I lost 11 lbs on 2 week liquid protein diet)
Weight today: 216 lbs----(I lost 11lbs in the first 4 weeks post op)
For a total loss of 53 lbs total. I feel great and my recovery has been very well. Exercise and returning to work has been challenging. The work routine has been more tiring that I thought it would be. But am getting at least 4 day for the last week. But when I was off, was walking daily.
Doing well with protein and eating have had 3 times post-op that things didn't settle, but all and all pretty well. my pouch is happiest when empty however=if truth be told.
Each week it is easier to get my fluid in----I am soooo thankful.

I'm glad to hear you don't do protein drinks...I was beginning to feel "weird"! I am not quite 6 weeks out and finally am starting to feel better, I am still real tired by evening though. I'm still only able to eat about 2 ounces (3 tablespoons and a bit) at a time.
Hugs,
Holly

Hi Linda,
Sorry I didn't get back with you...somehow I missed getting an email from the post. How are you doing now, have your food choices increased?
Hope you are doing well.

I'm a combination of Mary and Lisa... I have been out on the TN board, but thought I would check out this board. I too have been in a stall (Lisa) and feel like I'm the slowest loser in the world (Mary). I'm glad to have read your posts, because it lets me know it's not just me!
Starting weight: 246 (6-1-07)
Surgery weight/date: 230 (9-4-07)
Lowest: 196 (10-5-07)
On the 5th of this month, I got all excited 'cause I had lost 50 pounds since June when I sought out my doctor. I have not lost ONE POUND since then!!!! I actually went up 3.5 pounds with my period on the 11th, thought that plus some would come off after that, but NO! It too****il Sunday for those 3.5 pounds to come off. Today I am 7 weeks out from surgery and SO hoped to be below 195 today. I had another 2 week stall last month and only dropped 4 pounds from that one. I sure hope I drop more when this one is over.
Does anyone know what causes these stalls?

Topic: DUMPING ON CALTRATE??
I have been eating the caltrate calcium tablets since I got home from the hospital and have not had a problem until today. I ate the first one of the day about an hour ago and it made me dump. I don't get it, and now I don't want to take another one, but I have two more to go for the day.

Holly,
I was so nice to read that your dr doesnt have you do the protein drinks either! Mine doesn't and it seems like EVERYONES dr on here wants them drinking it. I had my surgery on the 25th and today is our 4 week anniversary. How are you feeling? I am struggling with the hibernation...YUK! Just don't have any energy, plus i am not eating a whole heck of a lot yet, so I know my body just needs to adjust.

I feel that I am the slowest loser in the world!
RNY date 9/10/07.
Starting weight: 305
Last week's weight: 277
This week's weight: 277
Still on soft foods, and having a real problem with nausea. I forget to start out eating slow, and end up in the bathroom within 5 minutes. Am walking 20-30 minutes/day, and today I did a 1 mile workout video (only had to stop and rest a couple of times).
I'm really frustrated with the slow progress the last 3 or 4 weeks.
