Topic: RE: I can't seem to eat anything
I had my surgery on 9/10 & have started to introduce some solids. I seem to be getting sick a lot. My dr has said if you get sick go back to semi-solids for 48 hrs before trying something new again. Guess I'm back to mashed potatoes and protein shakes for a while.
Topic: RE: Stuck for 13 days!!!!
This is EXACTLY where I am. I had Lap RNY on 9/24/07. I've lost 25 lbs but have been stuck or weigh a pound more for the last 10 days. I hear all the time on these boards that this is normal but give me a break!
Topic: Stuck for 13 days!!!!
Alright, I'm starting to lose my patience. I've been stuck for 13 days now. I don't mean losing slowly, I mean that I am one lb higher than I was 13 days ago! I had RNY on 9/25. I've lost 24 lbs so far. Anyone else had this????
Topic: RE: scale is stuck.....
I had my surgery on 9/25 and I've been stuck for 12 days so far with no weight loss for the last 12 days. I'm pretty frustrated. I've lost 25 lbs so far from my high weight.
I haven't gotten a period even though I'm past the date when I should have. I don't know if that's related to it.
Topic: RE: Looking for October Surgery pals!
Hey Jennie,
Look no more you found me....an October surgery person...even on the same day!!! So how are you feeling? I am doing ok-just like you I too am tired of soups and I can't seem to get all the water in. Sometimes I even have trouble with the vitamins...UGH!! yep same thing with the BM's so I guess that is normal. My DR suggested Milk of Mag for that one. Hope to hear from you soon!!

Topic: RE: Anyonw have problems with the smell of food making them feel sick?
In my support group on of the longer post ops, suggested that you carry a small jar of Vicks with you so you can off set the smell of foods that make you ill feeling. I, myself, haven't had this problem. Just thougth I would pass along her suggestion.
Topic: Carbs - How Many Per Day?
Does anyone have a number for the total daily carbs? I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and have really slowed down on the weight loss. My NUT said no food should be over 20 carbs. So I'm looking at carbs for the normal serving. Under 20 carbs ok, because I'm getting much less. But, when I look at my intake for a day, say Thursday, I had a total of 47 carbs. I remember being on low carb diets in the past that were much more restrictive. Maybe I shouldn't be so concered because we don't absorb much after RNY.
OK, I'm rambling! But I want to maxamize my results during this Honeymoon period.
Thanks for listening.

Topic: RE: so gassy
I can't help but to giggle at all of this because I to am a victum of sewer butt, however, I found it was because everything I am eating is dairy. Yogurt, skim milk, cheeze. Just about everything I eat is dairy. I found I became lactose intolerant. I was never before surgery so it took me until yesterday to find out. I was miserable with sewer butt, and diarhea, but after taking lactaid before each dairy product I eat I feel much better. Try it I am sure you will feel better. Best of luck.
PS If only we could bottle this stuff we would never have to stop at the gas station. LOL
Best regards,
Brenda NJ
