Hey there. I am addicted to my scale and really wished I didn't own it, because I stress over every pound. I'm going to make someone go bury it somewhere. I had my rny on 9/18 and am now cleared to eat whatever I can (as long as I get my protein in). The doctor said I should be forming into about 3 meals a day..but I still have to eat all day long to get all the protein. I know some people won't like to hear this, but I have something sweet every day. Sugar doesn't bother me...and my Maltese grandma always had a little dessert with every meal, and I guess it's just ingrained in me. I don't do it with every meal, but I have something sweet each day. Sometimes it's a fat free fudge pop, sometimes a small slurpee, It doesn't equal out to much at all, but I don't feel deprived. Beef usually bothers me. It just seems to sit really heavy. I also have had a problem with all things chinese food (which sucks because I love chinese food) and of course white carbs like bread/pasta/rice. I eat a LOT of cottage cheese and salsa. Also eggs. I can't handle them now after surgery, and I LOVED them before. They always make me puke, and violently. So I've stopped trying. If I eat too fast, I'll vomit, this is really hard for me to adjust.

I'm the same...the protein stuff I stopped like 3 weeks ago. I would have to change it up every few days because it made me so sick, and now I can't even smell the stuff without wanting to puke...but I eat lots of cottage cheese and lowfat milk and that works pretty well for me. My surgeon just OK'ed me for all foods, that work for me, of course, and don't make me sick so A typical day I eat some cottage cheese and salsa, a glass of milk, maybe a latte or something with milk from starbucks, a sugar free slurpee, a half sandwich loaded with meat and cheese (as loaded as you can get on 1 piece of wheat toast), and then some type of meat/veggies for dinner. I'm trying to have more variety now..but it's hard since I can still eat so little.

Hello, I'm new in Texas and I'm looking for a weekly support group meeting. I had bypass on 09/12/07 up in the Northwest, and I actually don't know anyone in Texas. If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it. I also have clothes for a clothing exchange if there is one in the area. I'm in the Austin area. Thank you..... Jill

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. I lost 26 lbs the first 28 days post ryn and the last 28 days I lost only 7lbs. It sounds like a nice total of 33 lbs post surgery, however I am feeling like a failure. I stalled in weeks 5 and 6 and also went up a lb or 2. I was going through my menstral cylce and assumed it was water weight, it does suck though. I was really hoping to loose more than 7lbs the second month. I am totaly bumed and have eaten some high fat no-no foods do to depression. I have just started exercising and hope that will increase my weight loss in month 3. I also have not had the full feeling yet. I hope it comes soon so that I can take advantage of this honeymoon period.

Hey Tricia! You have much respect from me, as I know it is MUCH harder to achieve restriction with the band! You all have to work much harder, in my opinion. But, I know that you will be successful once your fill regulates! Its a stuggle, but we are here to support you.

I can pretty much eat the exact same way as before the surgery. I'll admit, I've had sweets like cake and OMG, those mini-halloween chocolate bars, but no problems. I've eaten lots of food too, like at regular meals. So yesterday I got my first fill and I'm hoping this will all change. But I went out for Mexican one night and ate enchiladas with beans, rice, and salad (not all of it, but definitely more than 1/2). My weight loss stalled for a bit, but I'm hoping after my fill I will be back on track.

I was banded on Sept 4 and tried some Fresca about a week ago - OMG, I'm never doing that again! I think I'm done with Diet Coke for good. I swear, the gas pain hurt so much, it was like the first day out of the hospital when I had those air bubbles after the surgery. I found that I just drink water now, nothing else. It's okay, but not the same. Especially when I meet a friend for a drink and I want something non-calorie and diet coke used to do it for me, but now I have to get tea.

I am a bad example . I got so tired of eating and drinking the nasty stuff. Just the thought of protein shakes would make me gag. The last couple of weeks I've been eating pretty much whatever I want. I can hold anything down IF I eat it correctly. I have to wait 2-3 minutes between bites and of course I have to chew, chew, chew. I can only get 3-4 bites in at a meal. I try to eat high protein meals but I know I'm not getting near the amount that I'm suppose to. My surgery was Sept 17 and I've lost 28 pounds.
