Your in a plateau, no fun but as the post above says our bodies were used to getting food all the time and lots of it, but now it is only getting little bits at a time and it thinks its starving you will start losing again. I stalled for about 2 weeks and then boom 10 lbs just like fell off.

Don't feel bad I am right there with you. I can not tolerate any meat at all. I am living on cream soups with melted cheese added to get the protein up. I keep trying meat like last night I tried pork chop and up it came, I chew the heck out of it and then only eat like an ounce and within a few minutes up it comes. The other thing I can eat is yogurt and porrigde. Not much of a menu is it. How is your weight lose coming mine has slowed I think it is the lack of protein.

I myself have similar problems.I had surgery on 9/10 and have had very little luck eating chicken, beef generally anything that i used to.Ive resorted to baked potatoes, yogert, cheese and peanut butter.I also eat lite cream cheese on reduced fat crackers.Yesterday i actually ate sliced deli turkey and cheese on crackers and didnt feel sick or throw up,although i had to eat even more slowly than usual. My biggest problem is not drinking and eating for i find these days i'd rather drink than eat. Also since surgery my scense of taste has changed dramatically...am i alone?I just have a hard time figuring out how i survive and feel good on no more than i eat.

I had a problem with constipation, until my doctor told me to start eating some veggies and increase my protein shakes to compensate for less protein in my diet. That has helped now I am pretty regularly going every other day.

Topic: RE: How's everyone Weight Loss & eating going?
I'm glad that everyone is doing so well post-op.. I finally found a Protein shake that I can stand.. Thank goodness cause I was starting to get a little worried.. It's the Adkins Advantage. Alone they are still a little to sweet, but if I add a cup of milk & 2 cubes of ice it's perfect.. I've drank one every morning this week, which is a lot better than what I've been doing.. I've only tried the Chocolate, but I'm going to try the vanilla next.. I'm now down to 206lbs, which isn't a big loss, but it's still a loss and that's what I have to keep telling myself.. Thanks everyone for keeping us all posted on how you are doing.. Lets make sure we keep it going.

Hello everyone Here are my numbers: highest: 355 day of surgery: 340 Nov 17: 285 Total loss: 70 Since Surgery: 55 I have noticed I am slowly eating more and faster. I was doing great on liquids and ever since going back to work, that has been suffering. I get so busy working I forget to drink. So I am trying to slow down and drink too. I have overeaten once and it was not good. I felt better after throwing up. Not an experience I would like to repeat. I joined a gym and started working out this last week. Worked out 3 times this week so I am off to a good start. Alisa

I haven't been weighed yet. I won't until my appointment in January. I can tell by my pictures I have lost weight (my pics are posted on my profile). My doctor said not to be concerned with a number. As long as I'm feeling better, that's what is important. I am physically getting better with my mobility. I was almost at the point of being bed bound, so being able to get around is a big morale booster for me. Before surgery, I would go to work, (i had to work for the insurance to have the surgery), come home and lay in bed. I am now parking my car further away from the front door at work so it makes me walk and I can make it from my car to my desk at work without stopping on most days. I am even joining the Y for the aquarobics classes this week ( I am waiting on payday to join). Tomorrow, I think I am ready to start to walk a little after lunch. I'm struggling with getting my fluids in. Nothing taste good. I'm doing well on solid foods. My pouch does not like beef. I also cannot tolerate anything warm/hot. So when I make my dinner, I have to let it sit for awhile to let it cool down. Life is improving. I am no longer on my diabetes medicine, although I still have to test my blood everyday. My other health issues are improving. I can't wait to start the aquarobics classes. I think my weight loss will pick up.

When I first had surgery, while in the hospital, I had a horrible case of diarrhea, probably from the barium to test for leaks. That was the last time I've had diarrhea. I went the complete opposite and was constipated for weeks. As soon as I would finally go, within a few days it was back again. When my doctor cleared me to eat salads, I have been much better. So I have been pretty regular now and at least don't walk around with the feeling that I have to go, but couldn't. I hope you find something that works for you. You can try increasing your fluids, watch the amount of cheese and exercise.

Topic: RE: Are you still sipping your fluids?
From my understanding, fluids will not stretch your pouch because it doesn't stay in your pouch to do any damage. I sometimes forget to sip and will take a big mouthful, if I catch myself, I try to only swallow half of it, holding the other half in my mouth (gross, I know). If I forget and just swallow my pouch reminds me in a not so nice way. I am actually having a more difficult time getting in my fluids than my protein. I hate the taste of plain water, crystal light (or the wal-mart version). My doctor said to keep switching that I will find something that works. I am now drinking Aqua Cal but only like (somewhat) the taste of the grape flavor. It has been really difficult and I am constantly fighting having chapped lips.
