Topic: RE: 3mth Labs???
My surgeon requires bloodwork at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. I did not need to get bloodwork at 1 month, however. I guess each doctor is a little different.
Good luck!

Topic: September Lap-Banders!
The September RNY-ers are WAY ahead of me in weight loss.
How about you lap-banders?
I've had one fill, and I don't feel like I'm experiencing any of the effects of the lap-band yet. Anyone else feeling this way?
i'm drinking a protein drink for breakfast, a chicken lunch (3 oz chicken and 6 wheat crackers)....and a dinner based on protein (like a piece of chicken or fish), but I might take 2-3 bites of potatoes or whatever side dish is around.
I can't eat any green vegetables due to being on blood thinners.
I am getting in 100 oz of water everyday.
But...at this time...I feel like I am dieting just like I have been all of my life....and not feeling like the band is helping me at all.
Pre-Op Weight = 279
Op Weight = 264
Current Weight = 252 (pathetic, isn't it!!...yikes!! )
Next fill is MONDAY!!! Looking forward to it!
Topic: RE: Definitely losing my hair now
As of this morning in the shower I officially have started to loose hair by the hand fulls.. Before today it was just a little more than normal, but this morning was alot.. I have super thick hair anyway, but I don't want to end up with any bald spots.. If it happens though I know it will grow back and at least I will be healthy and that is the ultimate goal..

I think mine is starting to come out more than usual but not by the handful yet. Just seems like more strands of hair floating in the bathtub so far.

My surgeon's office has not done any bloodwork since I left the hospital and they will not be until my 6 month visit.
My pcp did bloodwork about a month after my surgery I was getting leg cramps and thought I might be low on potassium but it was ok. Of course my PCP does not check for everything the wls surgeon will.

Topic: RE: How's everyone Weight Loss & eating going?
Pre-op: 237lbs
Today: 195
Total Loss: 42 pounds
I have started working out at my local YMCA, so I am finally getting in my needed exercise. No real food problems. I don't even seem to need to chew differently than before. Of course I get full faster, thank goodness. I can eat 4 oz fish at a time and with the Tilapia fillets I get from Wal-Mart that is 21 grams of protein. I just throw it in the oven covered with some Newman's Own Pineapple Salsa for 15 minutes. I never use to eat fish but now I have it probably 3 times a week. I have used regular salsa too and I want to try Newman's Own Mango Salsa.

I don't know what it is, but it seems like just the last week or so it's coming out in handfuls. Every shower, every time I bru**** just keeps falling out.
I don't know why it started so suddenly. Also, I don't have the type of weight loss I would expect for this at only 52 lbs since surgery date.
I know all I can do is eat my protein and take my vitamins, but this is ridiculous.

I think mine's going way too slow. I seem to be a really slow loser. My 3 month visit is this week and I've only lost 52 lbs. This would be fine and great, except that starting over 400 lbs should have yielded a higher loss.
