I hope not! I've lost so much hair, however I had a lot and thick hair to begin with. Now I have a lot less and its thinned out a lot. I think I like the way it is now, well I would mind jsut a tad bit more or thicker, but I just want the loss to stop already.

Topic: RE: how many calories an protein do you get???
Now I'm wondering if I'm eating to few calories! I only take in between 600-800 calories a day, with 70-90g of protein (I eat around 2-3oz a day... closer to 2oz than 3). I had lap RNY on 9/24/07. I did go into my surgeons office and talk to his PA, although it was a rather quick visit and we didn't go into to manty details about food, he said it seems I'm doing fine with what I am eating.

Topic: RE: How Much Fill Do you Have?
Right there with ya!! Pre-op 279 Surgery 264 (9/21/07) First Fill Nove 15 (3 ccs I think) 2nd fill Dec 17 (no idea on how many ccs) Today 243 (1/26/08) I've only had two fills due to some complications early on. I'm with you on not feeling like the band is limiting me. My roomie had gastric a long time ago, and she is constantly surprised that I can eat "so much!" Now,...when she says "so much"....here is an example: I can eat like a 1/4 baked chicken plus fruit cup plus a couple of bites of mashed potatoes....and the only reason I stop eating, is because I know I need to....not because my lap band is stopping me. I guess it's time to get with my doc to get his input!

You both are doing great!!!! I don't feel like I have the same success that you have. I am down 36 from pre-op and only down 21 pounds from surgery....9 of those came within the past 2 weeks when I started augmenting with 2 Imelda Perfect Slim capsules every morning (makes me not so food focused...took away my "I am so deprived" "wo is me" feeling!) I am just happy right now that the scale is going down, down down!!! I actually put on a pair of jeans this week and the waist band did not roll down below my belly!! Ahhh....don't we live for those little "COOL!!" moments. Hat's off to your weight loss!! I think 2008 is going to be a great year for ALL of us!!!!! -Ann

Topic: RE: September Lap-Banders!
For 4 weeks following my December fill...I lost perhaps maybe 1 pound. The fill did, for the first time, give me a negative reaction to food intake. On two occasions, I ate some bread (whole wheat), and then I would be in extreme pain...and feel like throwng up....which would last until I burped. Which was actually great...cause I don't like that feeling, and I certainly don't need to be eating bread. So there I was, not eating anything with bread, no sweets, having a high protein intake and for two weeks of that 4, I began vigorous exercise 45 minutes 5 days a week....and the total weight loss over that 4 week period was ONE pound!!!! And I constantly still felt like I was on a diet...having to have will power to turn down food. Over the past 2 weeks however, someone talked me into trying Imelda Perfect Slim capsules, and I have taken 2 each morning. Over the past 2 weeks I have lost 9 pounds!! And on top of that...the pills make me actually forget about food!! I always have been consumed about thoughts about food, and somehow, this little capsule makes me less impulsive about wanting food just because I see it. I can see people at work with birthday cake...and I don't care to have any..I DON'T FEEL DEPRIVED like I did before. I have not scheduled another fill....as I am currently being very successful, but I sure don't feel like it is because of the lap band!!! In my mind...right now, the two are working very well together and so I will just focus on that. I now have HOPE!!! Last week was a full week being able to maintain less than 250 pounds...and now I am down to 243! Can't wait to get on the scale on Monday!!!

Hey Kristen, You are looking great! By the way, I am also losing lots of hair. I wonder if Rogaine would work? What do you think?

Topic: How Much Fill Do you Have?
I got my band in Mexico on September 3rd and I've had 3 fills since then (Nov/Dec/Jan). I have the 11cc band and right now I have about 6.75cc's in it, but I still don't feel a whole lot of restriction. I mean, I eat less, but not much less. I can still eat more than I think I should. My fill doctor says he's not comfortable putting much more in, but I haven't really lost that much, in fact, I've lost nothing since my last fill. Starting: 248 2 weeks after surgery: 230 Today: 227.5 So really, I think I'm just down like 3 pounds because we all know right after surgery it's super fast coming off. Mine just really slowed down! Topic: RE: Any one else's Doc. Ordering a Bone Scan?
Because of our malabsorption issues we MUST take calcium. Recent studies have shown that we should probably consider taking up to 1800 mg. of calcium a day. If you're not getting enough calcium from supplements your body will leech it from your bones. This makes the bones have a lacy-like consistency, much easier to break. Your doctor is being very diligent in having you go for the BDT, my PCP is having me go for a DEXA scan in March. It is a little different than the BDT but I am 53. Have old bones, LOL. Good luck!
