Topic: RE: Weight loss slow
Thank You very much, I just have been stressing that I will not ever lose anymore weight, I think I am losing inches, my rings are very lose, ha ha, that is cool, my regular doctor told me today that slow is good, less sagging skin, and all my labs are very good, so I am going to stop going to the gastric P.A. she is too stressful for me, but thank you for responding.

I've lost about the same as you and started out heavier... My dr's told me i was right on target, though! I started at 343, am now 270 and had surgery a week before you... I definitely feel like I'm a slow loser, but it's pretty crappy for a medical professional to say that to you. My dr's tried to be encouraging and told me I will have less nutritional deficiencies, less saggy skin, etc since my loss won't be as traumatizing to my body..

Topic: RE: How Much Fill Do you Have?
Trisha, I am concidering going to Mexico as well :) Did you go to Mexico for your fills? I don't want to go there for fills but follow-up with a Dr near my home. Also, was the hotel included in your fees and how many days after did you go home? Any info you can give me would be appreciated.

First of all, I have never, ever heard that weight loss stops at 6 months. I have always been told the majority of the loss is in the first 12-18 months. Throw that nonsense out the window! You're doing great for 5 months out. Not super fast, but not at all slow either. The hair loss is really common. Some people use supplements, but it seems after 3-6 months the hair stops falling out regardless. Keep on your nutritional plan, exercise, drink your water (that's HUGE deal), and try to relax.

Topic: RE: snacking...and on peanut butter, somone yell at me!!
I'm a huge peanut butter fan, but with some caveats. No standing in the pantry eating out of the jar with a spoon and no more than 2 tbsp a day. I measure out 1 tbsp of PB and spread it on a couple of whole grain crackers, put them on a plate, and sit down at the table to eat them slowly. Other times, all I want is the PB and even then it gets measures and goes on a plate and I sit at the table. That keeps me honest!

First of all, is it all natural peanut butter? If so, why don't you just make it a daily planned snack, but measure it out and record it/include it in your daily caloric intake allowance. If that's not a good enough solution, then my next suggestion is simply to throw it out and don't buy any more.

Topic: Weight loss slow
Hi everyone, I am new here and was just wondering, what is considered slow weight loss, the P.A. told me that I am losing to slow, I weighed in at 311lbs the day of surgery and as of today, I weighed in at 240lbs. I have been stressing out, she said I was way behind what they would like to see, I don't have any trouble with foods, other than, I forget to eat, and it is hard to eat all that protein I get in about 60 to 70 grams a day, I don't eat any white foods at all, and hardly any carbs, so I don't know how to speed things up, I am scared too, she told me that after 6 months I will stop losing, and the malabsorbtion will stop, and I will not lose anymore, so I am confused here, I eat veggies, and proteins, what else do I need? I am losing my hair by the hand full, and feel like a mess, and stressed, can anyone help please, I would appreciate everyone's input. Thank you.

Hi April! I just posted last week about this on the VSG forum. I was just diagnosed. Do you know if it is related to surgery in any way? It's odd but since being diagnosed my symptoms seem to have worsened! I have a lot of hot flashes any way and they seem to have intensified. ??????
