Topic: How many calories are you eatting?
just curious, it seems to me I eat lot more calories than some (between 700-900) but my weight loss is still going well...so how many calories is everyone else taking in? and are you eatting 3 meals or snacks too?

I totally agree, that there isn't anything wrong with having some PB.. so long as you add it to your daily food intake log. PB is a good source of PB and helps keep you full for a while.
Like the previous poster, I also have it on some whole grain crackers or a piece of 12 whole grain toast. I measure it all out though and DO NOT eat out of the jar... that's a no no since you aren't keeping a good track of intake. I will scoop it out and eat it sitting down taking my time, but its all measure and it will counts as a meal/snack.

First of all that was highly insensitive of the PA to mention to you...
At last weigh in before surgery I weighed in at 295 and since surgery I am down to 231lbs. My PA advised that I could lose more if I tried to get more excercise in however I am at about average on the expectation. I had stopped working out since Christmas and have only recently begun again. I see a bigger difference now that i am working out a bit more... I lost 4lbs in just 1 week by working out 4days out of 7. However I am quite happy with my weight loss, although I am starting to see sagging skin (mainly in my arms) I have seen less of it in my stomach which is what i am seriously concerned about. True my chest also is sagging a bit now, but whatever I can live with it especially with some good supportive bra's .
I think you are doing fine... and you definitly need a new person to follow you threw this. You need someone who can balance out encouraging you without putting you down.
As for stopping to lose at 6months... BOLOGNA! My PA said that at 6months I will slow down a bit on the weight loss, that if I am not excercising regularly by then it will be a bit harder to lose... hence me trying to get into a routine before that 6month mark... at 1year we should see a slow down again and at 18months to 2years I will finally be like everyone else out there.
So again, he encouraged me to work out more.... walk more, do small things and build on that so that i can get the maximum at the beginning before I start to hit those small milestones whereI will slow down but so far I'm doing good... I just have to keep at it.... and i think you are doing great as well.
Topic: RE: How much can you eat?
I have always measured, I don't want to overeat and since I don't always feel full right away don't want to make myself sick.
At this point I eat between 2oz to 4oz's... 4oz would be a big day for me where I really ate a lot, more often than not I stick to around 3oz. I will also eat closer to 4oz when I have more veggies such as my lunch today which is 2oz of ground turkey and 2oz of red and yellow raw peppers... I don't know if I will be able to eat all 4oz but that's what I packed for lunch. The higher density the food is and more protein packed the less I need to satisfy me.
I know I would be fine if I only did 3oz of meat however I have been craving veggies and they taste so good to me in raw form that I have been mixing my meat up with a bit of raw vegetables.
I see my NUT again in March and she will review with me my food intake and make sure I am on the right path.

I am trying to be good about measuring since I can eat more now than I could right after surgery. I think I am pretty much in line with you, Tanya. I usually eat about 4 oz. per meal. Most of my meals consist of chicken or ground beef. I'm not a big vegetable eater, and my surgeon's assistant told me it was okay to stick with the protein since I should be getting most of the vitamins I need from supplements.

I try and always measure, scared that if I don't I will over eat. For less dense proteins and veggies I can eat 3/4 cup to 1 cup for my meals, but If I have fish fresh or canned or canned chicken breast I can only eat 1/2-3/4 cup.
how much are you getting in?
hope this helps

It's so little that I can eat at one sitting that I don't measure. I did notice the other day that I ate one entire egg & a half slice of toast. Sometimes I may have a slice or two of bacon, but then forget the toast or all of the egg. I usally eat a meal at home out of a custard cup!
I still don't understand why I'm alive with the small amounts that I consume.

I started at 249 & am now about 210. 2 lbs. a week is really good for me. I think that you should get a new nutritionist.
Topic: How much can you eat?
I have a question for everyone - how much can you eat at each sitting? I never really measured my food in the first few months; I would eat until I felt satisfied. It took so little to feel satisfied that I never really worried about it. Now, at four months out, it naturally takes more food to feel satisfied, but I have started keeping track of how many ounces each of my meals is. I want to get a feel for what people in a similar position are doing.
Thanks!

I guess every doctor is different, but mine was really pleased with my progress at my most recent appointment. I was about 325 on surgery day and now am at 249. I am always comparing to other people, and my loss seems pretty close to average. I'm interested in what other people have to say on the topic, but I think there are so many factors that affect how quickly you lose.
