Topic: Anyone been pregnant?
Hi everyone!

I found out i was pregnant barely 3 months post op! baby is now 4 months old and i have lost just under 100 pounds, not too bad considering! this was my second pregnancy and a wonderful one at that! i am just struggling with hair loss again at the moment  and it is driving me insane! i have noticed that everyone on this site-mostly in the usa, are taking a lot of protein supplements, but my doctor over here only prescribed: vitamins, calcium and iron, and a diet. perhaps i should try the protein shake as a supplement. do you guys think it will help with the hair loss and also my energy levels?

lotsa love!

Topic: Checking in with all the September 2007 babies!
Hi everyone! We haven't had a check in for a long time, so I figured I would start one.

If you don't know me, my name is Lisa and I had Lap RNY  on 9/11/07 (who could forget that date!) by Dr. Holover in New Hyde Park, NY. I am currently maintaining a 140 pound weight loss and fell fantastic! My first year was filled with complications of every kind. Name it, I had it! That being said, this surgery was the BEST thing I ever did. My life is so much better now, I am able to do all those things that were totally out of my reach before....like sit in a movie theater/plane seat comfortably.  I currently wear a size 8/10 pants and small/med top. I was wearing a 26/28 and 3X. It's great to be able to walk into basically any store and find something that fits!

Plastics? NO! I am not planning on any for a number of reasons...the first being $$$$$. Secondly, after all the problems I had after my RNY, I don't think I want to go under the knife ever again. Third, everything looks fine when put together and dressed. A good bra is a wonderful thing!

So, that's me. Lets all post updates so we can share in each others successes and struggles. I find it inspiring to hear about other's lives post surgery.
Hugs,
Lisa

Tomi,

OMG - what a transformation.  You are so gorgeous; and, your family is beautiful.

Hasn't this been an amazing journey?  Everyday is a blessing!

I agree, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.  This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.  My only regret is that I waited so long.

Keep up the good work and post again.

I'm eating around 1400 calories per day.  I keep my fats to less than 25-30% of total caloric intake, and the sat fats to less than 10%.  Carbs are at 50%, but that is almost exclusively complex carbs like veggies and fruit with a little bread or rice, etc. thrown in.  The rest is protein.  I exercise 4-5 times a week.  I started out at 260 also and now weigh 140.  I'm happy right where I am and am hoping to maintain at this weight forever.
