Topic: RE: How's the hair??
I'm not losing very much anymore, and this morning I noticed a strand that seems to be new hair growing out. I'm really careful about getting at least 70 g. of protein in each day, which I wasn't doing a couple of months ago. I think it's helping.

Mine is still coming out by the handfull. I do mine in the morning and don't touch it the rest of the day. I guess I could gather all the hair that I find on my pillow, clothes, in the shower, etc and make a wig for when I have nothing left.

my hair is starting to come back. I added an extra protein shake to my routine and noticed in improvement in the hair loss. My nails are a mess though. Weak brittle & chipping all the time.

Is everyone's hair still falling out? I haven't noticed mine slowing down.

Topic: RE: Heyyyyy My September Babies! Happy 6 month Anniversary!
I eat pretty much anything I want to now. I don't dump from sugar, so I am finding out about how much of an enemy it is......... I try to get in a protein shake with 8 oz. of skim milk every day. I have turned into a coffee-aholic because I can't drink soda anymore and I have gotten tired of the flavored water drinks, and I want to drink something with flavor to it. My hair has been falling out since around December, but it is slowing down. I am not doing very well on the exercise side though, I am hoping my motivation will pick up when the weather gets better. It is weird though, I always thought people were looking at me before because I was so fat, but now I see people staring at me again. I guess they are amazed at my transformation, or are trying to figure out how they somehow know who I am. I waved and smiled to a woman at my family doctor's office the other day, and she didn't know who I was until they called my name to go back to the exam room. I just worked with this woman probably 9 months or so ago. What a good feeling! Highest: 306 Surgery day: 272 Current: 206 (Yes!!! finally 100 lbs.) Highest clothing size: 24-26 Current: 14-16 Sounds like everyone is doing great. Keep up the good work!!!

Girl, Girl, GIRL!!! You are NOT too old - cuz if you are, then I am too, and I'm NOT! I am 43 and now that I've lost almost 100 pounds, I feel so much better (healthier) and happier. And I feel like my life has just begun. So how could I possibly be too old? Now I have a different situation. I have lost over 10 inches in my bust since surgery, but haven't dropped a cup size. I've gone from an overflowing DD to a full DD. (have gotten very excited that the center of the bra actually lays flat between my breasts - never had that happen before!) Anyway, so I'm eventually looking at a reduction/lift. I started at 246 and am currently 155. My ultimate goal is 125, but would be happy anywhere between 125 and 135... just want that "healthy BMI". Don't think if I get there that I want to stay a DD (not to mention they would probably be classified a DD-LONG!!!) With that said, I'm sure by this fall I will be looking into plastics (already have the approval from insurance, so I'm a step ahead of game). This is the first time in months I've posted on this board, but will try to keep in touch w/ ya'll now... Take care! ~ Tara

I had open RNY on Sept 7, 2007 and I weighed in at 286. On March 7, 2009 I weighted in at 186. I pretty much can eat everything except fried foods and bread. I pretty much stick to the basics though. I have a hard time getting in all my water and protein but I keep trying everyday. Exercise not my best side but I try to walk everyday and use my weights.

Topic: RE: A couple of WOW moments
How funny....I was recently cleaning my basement and came across my wedding dress...I too tried on my dress and zipped it up. My kids thought I was insane, but I was having fun. I also came across some fur coats that belonged to my mother and grandmother (who were tiny women)...they too fit....I'm not an advocate for fur..but just to know that a coat that was my mothers and grandmothers fit was a great WOW moment for me

Without a doubt, you are not too old to get a breast lift. If you are very unhappy with your breasts, it is going to affect things you do and what you wear, just like the excess weight did. Definitely, wait until you have reached goal and I say.... GO FOR IT!! Keep us informed. Hugs, Lisa
