hey my date is also sept 5th , for the bypass surgery,and today i started my ld....i dont think that i am going t cook dinner tonight i am going to leave it up to my dh but i should be good tomorrow once i get into the swind of things...i ahve ha me dat since august 1 and i thought that it was going to take so long for a month to go by but it hasnt...i am sooooo nervous it doesnt make sense but the excitment and joy for the journey to come is awesome...i will keep you in my prayers and thoughts as we do this togethter..and that is everyone that is on this wonderful day...sara

I can't wait! Although, reading some of the posts on message boards terrifies me! However, I am positive everything will be fine with me and I will be successful with no complications!
I start on my pre-op diet tomorrow, and wondering if I have everything I need!
Worried I might not have everything I need for post-op, but will be at my mommy's home and she can go and get, if I need anything.

Melody -- Good luck! My RNY is September 5th. 10 days to go!! I've already lost nearly 9 lbs (in 4 days) on the liquid pre-op diet my doctor mandates. Have you already planned your bag to pack for the hospital?
When I had my pre-op visit with the nurse educator on Thursday she told me to wear to the hospital what I planned to wear home, be sure to wear slip-on shoes, and bring my CPAP machine with me since they'll need it when they put me under to make sure I can breathe properly. That's all.
Of course, I know that I'm going to wear my lace-up shoes because they have my custom orthotics which keep my legs and feet in proper alignment. I have tried walking without them. It's not fun for about five days afterward so I just don't do it any more. This means I'll have to ask my Mom to put my socks and shoes onto my feet for me and then I'll leave them on for the rest of the day.

I am scheduled for Sept 10th also. It sill feels like it is far out. I am certain it will be here before I know it though.

Hello Chickita,
How are you doing? I see you were not given a special diet.... that is odd. Are you having a Lap RNY? It may also be different because you are in the US and maybe they do things differently there.
How are you feeling about your upcoming date? Are you nervous? I am nervous but more excited I think. I have been over weight my entire life and to know that one day I will have lost all this weight is completely amazing to me. I can't wait. I wi**** was tomorrow. Yeah I know I say that know but I know I am just going to keep getting more nervous as each day goes on. Please keep in touch it is nice to have someone to chat with that is at the same stage as I am right now.
