Hi Tabitha! I won't know my time until the evening before...now won't that drive me crazy :angst: Tell me more about the filter they are placing for blood clot prevention. Because of family history, I will be on heparin therapy and leg huggers, but I was curious about this filter procedure you mentioned. It's amazing the differences, as well as similarities, with how they treat each individual patient in the different areas of the country. How about waiting to pack your hospital bag until you get up that morning? Like, don't have a thing ready! That's sure to keep you busy :-D I suppose I would have a little list made up ahead of time, just to be sure I got it all! Also, a nice walk listening and singing some great tunes would help keep your mind off it (a little anyway) or a little light housecleaning? Not fun, I know...just trying to throw some suggestions your way, cuz I'll probably need to do the same! Please keep me posted on your progress -- pre & post op! Is anyone not doing any kind of prep before surgery? I talked to my doctor's nurse and she said that no liquid diet was to be done and no prep.. I thought the no prep sounded kinda strange, so I was wondering if anyone else was not doing one.. I have a feeling when I go in for my pre-op on Wednesday I'll be spending the rest of my afternoon on the toilet after starting the bowel prep...

I don't start my liquid diet until the 8th, but I have been on the liver shrinkage diet since July 10th. I have lost 24.2 lbs on it though. This weekend is my "last supper" because next weekend I start the liquid diet. Did anyone else do this?

Wow, guess we're both feeling a little overwhelmed :-o I wasn't required to do the liquid diet, but I wish I would have volunteered! I think it will better prepare me to lose the minimum five pounds they've asked me to shed by the 13th! I have all my pre-op work complete. Now, I'm just waiting patiently to call the night before for my arrival time and also working on getting my pantry stocked. It would be interesting to hear the similarity in our programs. There are such good things ahead for us and some days it overwhelms me, emotionally, to think about even the small things that will improve with the significant body changes...riding a bike with my hubby, fitting in an airplane seat, sitting on a folding chair...the list is somewhat endless! I'm tickled silly! How is the liquid diet going for you today? I'm thinking of you :angel: ~ Kim

I'm having my surgery on Sept. 11th as well! At St. Joseph's in Burbank, CA... This liquid diet bites! But... it's totally worth it! Best of luck to all of you! Karen
