Topic: new week of surgeries!!
Hi all, A new week is starting, many of will start our "new" life this week. Are you ready, have you packed, are you counting down your days or hours? I am so excited, I have three days and a wake up! I guess the only thing I'm a little anxious about is the pain after surgery, thank goodness for morphine! Have a wonderful week all. Holly

Topic: September 6th lap band surgery
I had the surgery on 9/6 and so far I feel no restrictions. Today is my first day on foods. I can eat yogurt, cottage cheese, fish, chicken or turkey, eggs, cheese etc. I am not that hungry but I can eat way more than I thought. I have no trouble drinking and no gas. I walked a mile today but got tired so I couldn't go another mile. I will try later tonight to get another mile in. I haven't had gas pains. The only real pain I have is at the port site and in my abs when I sit up or bend over. I want to lose weight the first month before my fill. Some people lose 20 lbs or more. I hope i do. I have trouble losing weight period. It goes really slow for me but I eat substantial amounts of foods. Even on the OA food plan I didn't lose very well. What is the key to losing the most weight? Some people have lost 60 lbs in 4 months on the band and that is what i am hoping I do.

Topic: RE: I'm HUNGRY!
I don't feel any restriction whatsoever and I had my surgery on 9/6. I ate an entire container of cottage cheese and two scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast and could have ate more if I chose too. I walked a mile. I really want the band to work and I don't want to waste another minute not losing so I am going to limit my intake. I am only going to eat protein as per my doc and nut instructions. I am not allowed to eat any beef, only chicken, fish, turkey, beans cottage cheese, yogurt etc. I want to lose 20 lbs the first month but my weight loss is so slow normally I will be lucky to lose 5 which is what my doctor expects. My fill in Oct. 4 too. Good Luck. Try OA for support. It really helps with the food addiction.
