Any i wish you all the best and my prayers will be with you on your big day! Thank you for reading this,Trish

Topic: The surgery is coming soon!!!
Hi all, Im on day 2, on liquids .3 days togo.Felling hungry and weak. I was liquids for 5 weeks when I told the Dr what I was doing,he told me to stop and eat like I would normally do.I lost fifteen lbs without trying..I was just trying to see what it would fell like.I needed to know how much will power I had.I also stopped smoking on my birthday 8/18 and stopped drinking all at the same time..Cold turkey..It wasn't that bad. This proved to me that I was ready for a change.I did this to myself and now Im ready for a new life. I made a mistake about the dates. We are leaving the 18th.We are going to Mexico..Surgery is the 19th.Oppps..Im getting a little nervous now.Last week my stomach hurt, the next day I cried all day then Friday I was fine..I guess Im going through some emotions..I dont like flying. So Im a bundle of nerves now..ohh.. Finely told my kids...They are OK with this. (INSIDE THIS FAT WOMAN IS A THIN WOMAN TRYING TO GET OUT INSIDE A THINNER WOMAN WILL BE A FAT WOMAN *****MEMBERS!!!) Cary Phx Az

Hi Katrina, Thank you so much! I'm sure all will go smoothly, but I appreciate and am very thankful for every prayer sent on my behalf. God is good and I know he will guiding all the doctors in my surgery room.. so I am confident that all will go well. I do put my full trust in God first and the doctors next (since I know God guides their hands).. I wanted to mention before but was busy rattling on about my pre-op experience and how easy and painless my surgeon is making this process for me.. but you asked if anyone had had or known of anyone who had surgery with Dr Richardson, I personally don't know of anyone, but reading through OH butterfly stories, I have run across a few of Dr. Richardson's patients.. sounds like he's a great surgeon. I know what you mean about carrying on and on.. I was pretty quiet about the surgery for a long time, but now that its getting here.. I can't seem to stop talking about this and that regarding the surgery.. but that is not unusual. It seems like you are not as nervous.. and I think that is a good sign. I will make sure to fill you in on everything, once I get home and am able to get online.. Once I am done with my surgery and you are done with yours.. then we will both (and your husband when he has his surgery).. be on the LOSING SIDE.. and for the first time in a long time.. I may even LOL Take care, and keep in touch when you can. Warm regards, Esther

Hi everyone! I'ts me, and I'm a loser baby!!!I got home (to my mom's house) on Thursday late afternoon. That evening I had my first "what did I do" moment. I was so uncomfortable and miserable but, as they say, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was feeling somewhat better (although I was extremely nauseaus and had to call the doc for medicine), and today much better. I have been sipping, walking, and resting. Getting in my water and protein and vitamins. Thanks to eveyone for their kind words and thanks to my big sister for being my special angel . I will update more soon. Hugs, Lisa

Ok kids, im home. Surgery went well with some minor difficulty. Seems men carry their fat differently than women. Every time he tried to band me the fat slipped back into place. With a BMI of nearly 60 its no wonder. So it took him a bit longer than normal and they kept me overnight for observation. My lovely wife spent the night in my room too. Shes a keeper..LOL Thanks for all those well wishes. I sure did appreciate them.

Hello Esther,Iam so happy for you!!!:-D I really pray that surgery will be a breeze. The information you have given me has been so very helpful. I go for my visit with the nutritionist on Sept.21,and my preop on oct.4. I cant wait and I hope my doctor be the same way,but I may need to be on liquids because I have acid refulx so bad!! Iam driving my husband crazy, every sice my approval all I talk and read about is the surgery. He will understand soon,he's having gastric bypass after me. I really think he is a little jealous because Iam going first!!!! Well dont forget to let me know how things are going,I WILL BE WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!! Katrina

Topic: RE: How much could you drink post-op?
I am 8 days out and I can pretty much gulp water and liquid now with no problems. I can get down an 8 oz protein shake in 10-15 minutes, that is probably too fast, but I don't have any bloating problems or anything, it just flows right through my pouch and into my intestine. The first few days I could only sip, but now it seems like normal drinking, as long as I don't chug it.
