Heyyyyy My September Babies! Happy 6 month Anniversary!
Hey everyone...okay...we are all at that 6 month mark and I am curious as to how everyone is doing. How are your eating habits? Can you eat pretty much normaly now? What are you eating? What can you tolerate? What can you tolerate but STILL will not eat? What can you tolerate...and have given in to? How much are you down? Can you see your own weight loss? Are you at a stall?? Why is this board sooooooo dead
I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS PEOPLE!!!
Let me see if I can answer a few for myself
I don't know how great my eating habits are. I can pretty much eat what I want (or so I beleive..I haven't ventured out much beyond chicken, grilled pork chops and fish). I can tolerate a tad bit of surgar..up to about 8 grams...after that...its over , although I haven't "dumped" in a while...I don't wanna test the limits. I learned I can tolerate a little bread...but because that was my demond before surgery, I've only tried it once, and now I'm OVER it...no thanks..I'm so used to eating everything without bread now, that it really didn't satisfy anything at all.
I still can't see my weight loss. When I look at myself, I still see that 355lb woman looking back at me. I don't weight myself unless I have an appointment...cause it's just nerve wrecking! But my stats the last time I checked in early January were:
Highest Weight: 355
Day of Surgery: 327
Current as of 1/08: 240
Clothing size at highest: 32W
Current as of 1/08: 22P
Next..................
I can eat just about anything I want, although some foods are tolerated better than others. I'm eating an average of 1100 calories/day, with 30% or less attributed to fat and 60-90 g. of protein. I don't do well with beef, venison or egg beaters. I LOVE Hood Light Cottage Cheese with Cherries and Pineapple, and I still do a protein drink every morning (8 oz skim milk with a SF CIB and a scoop of EAS powder). Sometimes I'll have a CIB at night too. I will have a starch with my lunch and/or dinner, but rarely will I have one by itself or with breakfast.
Highest: 260
Day of Surgery: 236
Today: 179
Goal: 130
Was about a size 22 when I started this journey, now a 14 to 16.
Highest weight: 394lbs on July 18th, 2007
Surgery weight: 362lbs on Sept 7th, 2007
Current weight: 275lbs on March 11th, 2008
Personal goal: 200lbs
The weight loss is slowing down, but I look forward to a spring and summer of activities, hikes, swimming, work, etc. Hoping to get to my personal goal before the end of this year. If I reach it I may set a new goal for myself at that time. Not sure what my surgeons goal weight for me is, as he hasn't shared it with me yet. I go see him on the 13th for my sixth month follow up.
I'm happy for all of us September '07 WLS patients. I can't believe that it has been six months, but then again, my recovery period seems like a lifetime ago.
my eating habits are very good, still trying to stick with 3 meals and 1 snack, some days I have 2 snacks, but I don't graze. I am very luck and can eat pretty much everything now, I love me some steak! lol. I have tested the waters with sugar, and have found I don't dump....which sucks, kinda wish I could, it might keep me inline better. I also went on a weekend carb fest (didn't over eat, just had way to many potatos), and gained 3 lbs that was 3 weeks ago and I am finally back down 2, so I will be STAYING AWAY FROM CARBS!!! I know better than to give in to that devil!
my stats
highest 313
sugery 266
current 186!
personal goal 168
only 18lbs to go!
and this board is dead, we need to give it some life!
Okay here are my stats:
Highest Weight -285
Weight day of surgery - 270
Current Weight - 178
Biggest size - 26/28
current size - 14
First let me list my bad habits...I found I can tolerate chocolate!!! I'm getting into a danger area because of Easter coming up and I've been keeping chocolate in the house. And I've been able to tolerate a martini...the alcohol isn't a problem, because I'm not nor ever was a big drinker...but I am a chocoholic...I have to throw away the chocolate
Still cant tolerate bread very well. I do okay with wheat bread, but it still makes me a bit queasy so I generally stay away from it. Raw veggies I cant eat still i.e. carrots, and cucumbers...but I can eat lettuce...weird huh?
Other than that, I'm doing pretty well. Last weekend my DH and I went out for our anniversary to a steakhouse, and I ate fabulous. I had a filet mignon (about 1/4 of it) and it just melted in my mouth. The next day I overheard my husband telling his friends that I looked "smoking hot". Needless to say I've been walking on air since hearing that!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Hi everyone! I am doing well as it seems most of you are too. I can eat almost everything except I do sometimes have problems with solid meats getting "stuck". I actually had another stricture taken care of last month, and things seem to be going down better now.
I have not tried sugar at all! I do not want to know if I do or do not dump. I am just assuming that I do dump and there fore stay away from everything with sugar in it. My fear is that if I find out that I do not dump, I will start eating all of the wrong things and stop losing or gain weight.
Here are my stats:
Highest weight/Day of surgery: 285
Current weight: 194
Total lost: 91
Highest Clothing size: 24/26W
Current size: 16 or 18 regular (no more women's sizes for me!)
Hugs,
Lisa
