Stretched Pouch
I don't measure my food, but I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that I can eat a bit more than before. I think it is just due to my pouch healing. I watch not to eat too much, and one thing I really can tell a difference in is how much I can drink. Getting enough fluids is not a chore anymore.
I read in one of the things my doctor gave me that at first, right after surgery, the pouch is like a chamois that is dry, doesn't stretch much, then at a couple of months it is more like a chamois that has gotten wet and stretches some, and then at about six months it is a like a saturated chamois, supple. It doesn't mean it's stretched just healed. That helped me understand it better. I know you can stretch your pouch, but I don't think it something to worry about at this point, at least for me. Hope you are healing well and losing steadily.
Ya know I think we all think that we have strecthed our pouches. I know over Thanksgiving I was depressed thinking that I had blew everything. My nut told me that no one food is best and encouraged me to intorduce more textured high protien foods BUT I am so comfortable eating chicken salad, turkey salad, egg salad, salmon, tuna, Talapia, cottage cheese and yougurt. All of these things are of the same texture (soft and easy to chew) sometimes I find myself eating the same thing over and over. When I ate the heavier foods over the holiday I definently felt the difference. I felt it going down YUCK !!! and figured I was busting my throat esophgas and stomach out lol !!! This was after about 60 chews !!!
Keep the faith we are all thinking along the same lines.
