How's everyone Weight Loss & eating going?
10 weeks 4 days post-op. I'm down 45.2 lbs.
334 day of surgery
288.8 this morning.
I've been bad and have started introducing carbs to my diet when I should not (by my doctor's plan). I'm going back to basics tonight with my dinner. Even with breakfast this morning I wound up eating less than I thought I would because the bread made me feel miserable as I was eating it.
I may have cheese soup for dinner just to make it a light night. Then make sure I go back to my true basic eating plan.

I haven't been weighed yet. I won't until my appointment in January. I can tell by my pictures I have lost weight (my pics are posted on my profile). My doctor said not to be concerned with a number. As long as I'm feeling better, that's what is important.
I am physically getting better with my mobility. I was almost at the point of being bed bound, so being able to get around is a big morale booster for me. Before surgery, I would go to work, (i had to work for the insurance to have the surgery), come home and lay in bed. I am now parking my car further away from the front door at work so it makes me walk and I can make it from my car to my desk at work without stopping on most days. I am even joining the Y for the aquarobics classes this week ( I am waiting on payday to join). Tomorrow, I think I am ready to start to walk a little after lunch.
I'm struggling with getting my fluids in. Nothing taste good. I'm doing well on solid foods. My pouch does not like beef. I also cannot tolerate anything warm/hot. So when I make my dinner, I have to let it sit for awhile to let it cool down.
Life is improving. I am no longer on my diabetes medicine, although I still have to test my blood everyday. My other health issues are improving.
I can't wait to start the aquarobics classes. I think my weight loss will pick up.
Hello everyone
Here are my numbers:
highest: 355
day of surgery: 340
Nov 17: 285
Total loss: 70
Since Surgery: 55
I have noticed I am slowly eating more and faster. I was doing great on liquids and ever since going back to work, that has been suffering. I get so busy working I forget to drink. So I am trying to slow down and drink too. I have overeaten once and it was not good. I felt better after throwing up. Not an experience I would like to repeat. I joined a gym and started working out this last week. Worked out 3 times this week so I am off to a good start.

I'm glad that everyone is doing so well post-op.. I finally found a Protein shake that I can stand.. Thank goodness cause I was starting to get a little worried.. It's the Adkins Advantage. Alone they are still a little to sweet, but if I add a cup of milk & 2 cubes of ice it's perfect.. I've drank one every morning this week, which is a lot better than what I've been doing.. I've only tried the Chocolate, but I'm going to try the vanilla next.. I'm now down to 206lbs, which isn't a big loss, but it's still a loss and that's what I have to keep telling myself..
Thanks everyone for keeping us all posted on how you are doing.. Lets make sure we keep it going.

Pre-Op: 268.5
Today: 218
Lost: 50.5 lbs
I'm also having a very difficult time getting in my protein. I drink lots of skim milk and at least 90% of my food is protein. My energy level is still pretty low, I'm sure de to the lack of protein. I am slowly adding solid foods to my diet. I was on liquids for 2 wks, pureed for 4 weeks, and soft/adaptive for 2 weeks and counting. Beans are my best friends. No starches/carbs at all really, they just do not sit well at all. I'm eating maybe 3-4 tbsp of food at a meal.
I'm a work in progress, but the 50 lbs lost in just 2 months, means no regrets at all!
