I know, I know...I was really hoping I'd be one of those people who couldn't tolerate it at all, but I had to know, and it really doesn't bother me, unless there's a ton of fat involved or starch. And chinese food, I always go for something really light too, like steamed veggies and chicken or shrimp..and it still makes me so sick, so I've given up on it. It's a shame though, because DH is chinese and we like the food.

Hey! I had my surgery on 9/11. I eat all kinds of things! I have had cheeseburgers (at home), meatloaf, chicken nuggets, chicken stuffed w/ broccoli and cheese, fish, tuna from Subway, sliced beef. I don't eat bread w/ any of these things though. I have been to Pizza Hut and tried a bite of a breadstick and the toppings of a slice of pizza along w/ a couple bites of crust. I was okay at first, but was sick to my stomach several hours later. I have even tried a piece of chocolate and was okay. I just kept it at one though. I have also had broccoli, spinach, green beans, and carrots. All cooked, but I tolerated them well. I have a scale, but I don't get on it anymore. It was too depressing! Now I only get on the scale at my doctor's office. I will see how much I weigh on December 10th!

Thanks for the information Helen. Reading these post has honestly helped me realize that it is normal to EAT again...lol For some reason, I CANNOT bring myself to eat just the patty of a burger...so I haven't had any beef since before surgery!

I had my RNY surgery on 9/11. I tried chinese food for the first time last week. I had chicken chop suey and asked the cook to make it without corn starch. It was basically chicken, bean spouts, carrots, mushrooms and celery and I tolerated it very well. I was able to get 3 servings from a small pint size container. I haven't tried pasta, rice or bread yet. I did have a small amount of stuffing for thankgivings and I tolerated it well. I am down 34 pounds since surgery. The pounds are coming off slow, but I'm down from a size 24 to 16. I feel blessed. Measure yourself weekly and watch the inches melt. Be Blessed! Mary Ward
