new month!! question for you all
I actually clicked here by mistake (I was looking for the Sept 2005 board), but thought I'd answer your question about how to make holiday foods healthier:
Add the unflavored UnJury protein powder to things like Mashed Potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie.
Use Brown Sugar Splenda with Yams.
Use the gravy....it will help moisten the meat, and make it go down easier.
TALK a LOT at the meal.....you're not going to be able to eat much, but the fellowship of Thanksgiving is more about socialization of sitting around the table. Take a little bit of everything, and push a lot of it around the plate with a fork so it looks messy. It will make it seem like you're 'eating', because you're actively doing something while everyone else eats.
DON'T beat yourself up over whatever you eat that day. Unless you're making yourself dump, one day of indulgence isn't going to hurt you.
Even as a DS'er with a 4 oz stomach, there wasn't a lot of room for pigging out that first Holiday season, so you may FEEL like you've eaten a ton, but I promise you that you haven't.

Hello everyone, I seem to forget about this part of the site, but I love that I can come look when I remember and "talk" to guys that had their surgery around the same time I did.
Surgery weight 344
Last week 323
This week 316
Total lost so far: 28 lbs. When I see that number, its kind of disappointing. I was in a stall for almost three weeks!! I don't know why it was so long, but I don't want it to happen again for along time!
I haven't thought much about how to alter any recipes...I am thinking I am just gonna stick to the meat and some gravy in case it is dry, a little bit of mashed potatoes and some green bean casserole, those are my fav's and I won't eat much of anything so I think I will be ok!
