Alright, I'm starting to lose my patience. I've been stuck for 13 days now. I don't mean losing slowly, I mean that I am one lb higher than I was 13 days ago! I had RNY on 9/25. I've lost 24 lbs so far. Anyone else had this????

This is EXACTLY where I am. I had Lap RNY on 9/24/07. I've lost 25 lbs but have been stuck or weigh a pound more for the last 10 days. I hear all the time on these boards that this is normal but give me a break!

I also had my surgery on 9/25. I have lost 13-14 pounds post-op. But if my post-op loss is anything like my Pre-op loosing. I tended to only loose 10days to 2-weeks out of the month. Those days started with my period, then after that I would maintain and usually gain maybe a pound or two before my period. I had done this for years with any weight loss regime I was on. I really don't think it will be that different this time. Except, with my tool my goal is not to regain and continue to loose each month. I wonder if this is what is happening to so many, who think they are having "stahls". I refuse to weight daily for this reason. I hope I can continue to stay of the scale except weekly in the future. My focus now is daily exercise as I am doing well on my 3 meals daily

I have crazy patterns to my weight as well.... unlike the other person who posted, I never noticed this prior to surgery... I had a lap RNY on 09/18/07 and lost weight for the first couple of weeks... the second two - i was up and down a few pounds with a net loss of nada.... then i dropped about 15 in two weeks - now, i'm up 3 lbs - but expecting to stay the same for another week or so. Maybe our bodies lose too fast and then try to hang on to everything out of a fear of starvation or need to readjust? Also - when I'm not losing, my back hurts and my skin looks awful too - pasty and sickly... I'm trying to remind myself that the weight loss will start up again in another week or so - easier said than done. Overall, I'm down anywhere from 30 -35 lbs which is good, but these stalls are messing with my mind.

Hang in there September folks. It does get better. It is a combination of things. Your bodies have gone into starvation mode and have slowed down. Normally this passes as you up your water, protien and sometimes even calories a little. Kinda like shocking it with something new. This also happens with monthly water gain. I luck out on this one since I had my plumbing removed last year. Believe it or not, your body is still working on your side. While the scale isn't moving, you are losing inches. As you cruise the forums you will hear many people saying they lost most of their inches during the slow scale days. I also encourage you to do maybe Monday & Friday weigh ins if you have that urge to check each day. Daily will mess with your mind. Many will tell you to do once a week. I've settled with Mondays to begin the week and I check Fridays as that is my surgery anniversary day. I'm odd, I tend to lose on the weekend, then stay flat on the weekdays. I find that wierd. Hang in there. Don't lose faith. When you do lose, it will probably be a good one (3-5lbs) and it will surprise ya. Don't go crazy It does get better.

I was stuck for 12 days. I lost 25lbs in 2 weeks, then nothing. I finally lost 2.5 lbs, then steadily lost over .5 lb a day for the last 8 days. I'm now down to 234.5 which is 34 lbs lost since 9/27. Stick with the plan. This too shall pass!

Thank you all for those words of encouragement. Waiting all this time is very frustrating. But the wait may be over!!! I lost two lbs since yesterday!!! Luckily, not being able to eat sugar kept me away from all that candy my kids got for Halloween yesterday! If I cycle like some of the rest of you every month, that's okay with me. I'm now down a total of 26 lbs! Only 102 left to go

Thank goodness I am not going insane. I didn't mention it because I thought it was just me and that I was doing something wrong. Was it that dab of gravy on my mashed potatoes or what? I have stayed the same for almost 9 days. I am happy you are all in the same boat. I wish we were all losing but at least we know we are normal. Don't ya wonder how we can eat so little and still not lose weight? Kim

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. I lost 26 lbs the first 28 days post ryn and the last 28 days I lost only 7lbs. It sounds like a nice total of 33 lbs post surgery, however I am feeling like a failure. I stalled in weeks 5 and 6 and also went up a lb or 2. I was going through my menstral cylce and assumed it was water weight, it does suck though. I was really hoping to loose more than 7lbs the second month. I am totaly bumed and have eaten some high fat no-no foods do to depression. I have just started exercising and hope that will increase my weight loss in month 3. I also have not had the full feeling yet. I hope it comes soon so that I can take advantage of this honeymoon period.
