Hi, I am new to this site. I had Bypass on Sept 28, 2007 and so far I have lost 27 pounds I have been stuck for the last 7-10 days, only losing about 4 pounds in the last 7 days. I have also been on my period for 11 days! So, the scale is stuck or I am doing something wrong. I am having a hard time getting all of my protien and water down. Any suggestions? Please help I am very frustrated!

If you have lost 27 pounds since 9/28.......................RELAX!!!!!!!! It is expected that you willl only loose 20% of you excess weight per month/post op. You are not even 2 weeks post -op yet. AND you have been on your Period almost the entire time.. Pre-Op I never lost weight the week of my period or the week prior. Keep doing what you can to follow the rules Water, Protein , Vitamins as you wer instructed by your team and walk. Congrats on your loss by the way. Jackie

I know how you feel I had my surgery on 9/11, I was 341, now I am stuck at 317! I have been stuck for about 7 to 10 days too. I know it gets kinda depressing but you need to just have faith in what was done and what your doing and eating your protein and getting in your water. The rest will go as it has. I seriously know what your talking about I have been really frustrated too but I am trying to just have some faith in the process.

It was around the third week out that I didn't lose any weight at all. I was totally frustrated. I just stayed with what I was doing, and it did eventually start again. Hang in there! Zandra Q

I just posted the very same thing so ironic. I was banded on 9/12/2007 and I have lost 28 pounds and the scale is stuck at 206. I have been have a rough time getting in the protien and water BUT I am giving it my all. I was thinking of going back to the liquids for a while BUT after reading the reply's I decided to push for my protien, water and going to the GYM !!! My clothes are so loose it's ridiculos I should be jumping for joy. You'll be fine don't worry.

I had the same kinda thing happen, and actually gained 13lbs about 2.5 weeks out, it ended up just being fluid retention, that came off the next week. In talking to my surgeon he said it's normal to have fluctuations, especially in the first month post-op while our bodies are in shock from surgery and all the changes we've made. He said to expect about 10lbs a month. Some months will be more and some a lot less. Just keep following the plan and move and it WILL come off! Aug 12. started pre-op diet: 375lbs Day of Surgery (9/19/07): 346 (-29lb) 1st day home from Surgery (9/22/07): 360 (+14lbs) water/fluid 1 week post-op: 338 (-8 lbs + fluid gone, so) 2 week post-op: 329 ( 2.5 week post-op: 342 (+13lbs fluid retention) 3 week post-op: 335 (-7lbs fluid gone) 4 week post-op today! 327 (-8 lbs) TOTAL WEIGHT LOST so far: 48lbs!!! Woot-woot! So...it fluctuates but eventually it all goes DOWN ;o) You are doing awesome keep up the good work and YAY LOSERS!!

I had my surgery on 9/25 and I've been stuck for 12 days so far with no weight loss for the last 12 days. I'm pretty frustrated. I've lost 25 lbs so far from my high weight. I haven't gotten a period even though I'm past the date when I should have. I don't know if that's related to it.
