so gassy
OMG LMAO! because we were driving home from my mother-in-laws house tonight and I let a SBD on slip and nearly blew over my husband and children in the car. My boys (10 & 11) were ROARING over it. lol I was so embarassed. Thank gawd I was only with my family!! Wow! I so understand the new odorous emissions....wow!
AMEN!! I have found I have to limit my milk-type products in the day. i went a little overboard one day and had yogurt and potato soup for 2 meals and the next day was in the bath room all-DAY. As many new post -ops are I am lactose intolerant. So the next day I stuck to broth and my protein shake and I am back to normal ( GI wise).
I find that skim milk does a number on me. In the past, if I was on Weigh****chers and had to have skim, the same thing would happen. SO, yesterday I finally got myself some Lactaid. It was a lot better last night. Misery loves company, I guess - it made me feel better to know I wasn't the only one with the nighttime gas problems. I was much better last night, but the protein shakes are getting me down...I'm sick of them!!
I am right there with all of you. I was told about the excessive gas and the foul odor prior to surgery. However, I can get totally debilitated by the gas. I too take gas x, but I also drink hot tea. This helps me alot. I was in agony for 12 hrs with gas pain. I took 2 gas x and nothing, took 2 more and felt girgles. After having hot tea on top of all of this I was able to pass gas and burp it out. (tmi but on topic).
I can't help but to giggle at all of this because I to am a victum of sewer butt, however, I found it was because everything I am eating is dairy. Yogurt, skim milk, cheeze. Just about everything I eat is dairy. I found I became lactose intolerant. I was never before surgery so it took me until yesterday to find out. I was miserable with sewer butt, and diarhea, but after taking lactaid before each dairy product I eat I feel much better. Try it I am sure you will feel better. Best of luck.
PS If only we could bottle this stuff we would never have to stop at the gas station. LOL
Best regards,
