Hi all, Is there anyone out there that was on any meds for anxiety or depression and had the lap band. I take effexor for anxiety and it is time released and can not be opened and mixed with anything. What did you do?? Is there another drug that works the same and can be crushed or opened?? Help!!! Linda

Hi Linda, I was on the effexor XR which is the time release pill. There is the regular effexor which is a pill and would have to be taken a couple times during the day and can be cut up or crushed. Ask your md. I've been feeling so much better since surgery that I weaned myself off the meds. Good luck. Jessica

Thank you Jessica, I will call my therapist and ask her about the pill. My quality of life has been the best in the last two years. Nothing upsets me the way it did all my life. I can deal with things much better. I had a miserable childhood and never realized how bad it was till I saw the therapist. So I can't imagine not taking them. Even my husband likes the new me. Thank You again, Linda
