1 week after surgery.
Hello everyone
I just wanted to say good luck to all having surgery this week and weeks to come. My surgery went well on 9/13/07. I was home on Saturday afternoon. I had a excellent nurse on my first two night in the hosital and her name was jennifer . She was very attentive to me and everyone she was taking care off. AMAZING!!!.
Each day you get a little stronger and want to do a little more. Listen to your body. I still take naps in the afternoon for about 2 to 3 hours. My mom drove me to the walgreen's yesterday and it took everything just to hold myself up, but the fresh air did me good.
I am glad I had my surgery.
Hi Everyone,
I am almost 2 weeks out 09/10, surgery went good and each day I get a little stronger. I am still easily tired. I went to the store last weekend and hardly could get out to my car. I had to rest for a while before I drove home. I didn't realize it would wipe me out so much. I went to work for about 5 hrs yesterday and that did me in. I start moist and soft foods tomorrow, and I see my surgeon on Wed. and then I can start my vitamins. I am hoping I will get more energy back then. Any pointers out there on when you totally feel like yourself?
Cindy
I am glad I did the surgery also.
Lovin the mashed potatoes.
Just logged on to see how others are doing. I had surgery last Wednesday (four days ago). I feel good overall. Still recovering of course. My mom came yesterday and made some really thin mashed potatos. Yummy. The protein shakes stink (literally and figuratively) but I'm determined to get them down for my own good. Glad to hear others are napping a lot too. I knew I'd be weak and sore but I didn't expect to be so doggone tired. I'm trying to switch from the narcotics today to just regular tylenol (Almost puked on the pills though ). Hopefully that will help decrease the drowsiness. Good luck everyone.
Today is my one week anniversary too... moving on to pureed foods (suprisingly, i only tried one after being given the go ahead tday).
I'm exhausted but can walk about a mile at a tme... two miles totally leaves me wiped out. I'm sick of the protein shakes, tired, and wanting to feel a lot better already. Surgery wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. Other than pain immediately post-op (before the morphine kicked in), I've been ok. I walked the first night on my own, and was able to walk a mile the day after discharge. I've lost just over 15 lbs so far - and my BMI has fallen by 3. Yay!!!
Good luck to all waiting for their date still this month!.
