Finally got a date! after two years of waiting, it's finally gonna happen. I'm so excited that I could just keel over with joy.

Hi Michelle! I definitely feel your excitement :-D We have the same date - yahoo! I'm trying to do something everyday to prepare both pre & post op. So, what type of pre-op diet are you following? They didn't prescribe me any special diet, so I'm on my own trying to lose the minimum five pounds they've asked me to lose. I chose low-fat with a lot of fresh fruits & veggies, which should also help with the day-before cleansing :haha: I hope you're doing well in getting ready. I'm crazy excited! Keep me posted on your progress 8-) ~ KimmyGee

Hey Kimmy...they changed my date to 9/14, but we can still be surgery buddies My clinic did give me a pre-op diet to follow. I'm on the three S's (low sodium soup, salad, sandwich with lean deli meat). I'm also trying really hard to increase my water intake because I usually only manage about 2 or 3 ten ounce bottles a day. Gotta do better than that . I'm super excited too, but the closer it gets the more nervous I get. It'll be fine though. I can't wait!

That eating plan sounds pretty easy to follow...are you doing ok with it? I almost wish they would have asked me to do something more restrictive, like a liquid diet. At least with that there is some structure! Maybe I'll try what you are doing. Are you using whole wheat bread for your sandwich...and whole or half? Water is not a problem for me, but I do need to work on changing my drinking habit! I'm used to gulping all day long, now I'll need to change that to stop an hour before meals and the after meal rule. At least I'm not addicted to soda, which I understand is very difficult for some folks to give up. I like my morning coffee, but other than tha****er is my beverage of choice, then iced tea. So, are you ok with the date change? Just tacks on one more day of nerves, eh? Hope you have something to keep you occupied until then. My house needs some cleaning, so I decided to work on that every evening next wee****il the big day...it will exhaust me as well as be productive :-D Keep me posted on how you're getting along and hollar if you need help through any challenges. Woohoo...I'm excited for you and me and all of us  :jump: Take care! ~ KimmyG

I haven't really had any problems with diet. I think yesterday was my hardest day and it was because I went to hang out with some friends and they were all sitting around eating pizza; but I survived the temptation I'm not addicted to soda, but I am having a hard time giving up my powerades/gatorades. I usually drink about 3 bottles a day. That's been the hardest thing to give up. I've been eating low sodium soup, and I've been using white bread for my sandwiches b/c I really don't care for wheat bread, but I've only been eating half a sandwich with each meal. I'm a school teacher, so I've gotta get about 3 weeks worth of lesson plans ready to go for the time that I'll be out of school. That, getting my house in order, and packing up should keep me plenty occupied ( i hope). I'm okay with the date change, it's only one day. At least they didn't call and say we're changing it to a month down the road. mik
