My surgery date is September 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada
I finished all my pre-op stuff and was approved in early August. But my doc is booked until 9-25 so I have to wait! I didn't get a special diet and don't have pre-op meeting until 5 days b/4 surgery, sooooo, I'm just following some of the ideas in this forum (excercise, increase protein, lower carbs, vitamins etc.).
Hi Robin: No, I don't have to do anything - unless he gives me a diet at the pre-op appointment. But, I am "trying" the various protein drinks. So far I've tried AdvantEDGE from Sams (it's ok) and today I tried a protein powder with my crystal lite (semi-yuckky). Are you having any luck with protein drinks?

Hello Surgery Sisters!!!!!!! We are going to be some seriously healthy Girlfriends.
I am having a Gastric Bypass -First Case at 0745 on 9/25/07 in Kansas City MO.
I have to do 2 weeks of Liquid Protein Fast to start on 9/11/07. I like several of the shakes. I prefer the fruity types. ISOPURE NO Carb has a few you cand get from GNC or search the web for best prices. I like the Pineapple/Orange/Banana and I mix with Crystal Light Orange or Flavor. I also like the Syntex Nectac flavored powered, specifically Fuzzy Navel and Roadside lemonade--I also mix these with Crystal Light different flavors . I also like the cans of premixed protein drinks from Trader Joes for my Drive into work.
I am also ordering all my vitamins this weekend from Bariatric Advantage.
If you are new to protein drinks you can go to Vitalady.com and ordersamples to see what you like.
