Topic: RE: Anyone else stalled at 3 months
I've hit a couple of mini-plateaus along the way where I lose then rebound a pound or two, stay there for a week and drop that plus some.
I'm steady loosing at the moment but I know in about 20 # I'll hit a set point I've hit before so, my plan is to keep sip, sip, sipping, chew, chew, chewing and walk, walk, walking and stick to protein first, veggies next, and then fruit.

Hello
I am 3 months out and have dumped many many times... sometimes its pain in my tummy, hot flashed, sweats, and i must lay down and go to sleep, i'm weak and after a while resting I am fine... I was not sure if this was dumping but my doc said it was... I am down 70 pounds so thats good but I seem to throw up way to much and went in last week for blood work and just got them back today well I guess they were so bad that I got a call from the Doc and I go see him tomorrow they told me I was depleted of all my vitamins and B12. I can't seem to get alot of water down so that is bad and my protine was very low as well, we will see what the Doc says tomorrow when I go in.... will post more then... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Heather,
I haven't had a problem with anything that I've eaten in the past 3 months since my surgery. I have eaten to fast one time and to much another and had horrible pain for about 20 to 30 minutes with that I also had an upset stomach and thick saliva in my mouth, it wasn't fun!!! I talked to my surgeon about the saliva and he said it was my body preparing itself to vomit, although I have not been sick since my surgery. Good luck to you and take care, Minette
Topic: Dumping!
Have you found yourself dumping on things that didn't make you dump before? I dumped so hard this afternoon at work on a crabcake I ate 3 hours earlier. I have had crabcakes before with no problems. The only difference was this one was from a new place and was kind of gooey....i usually only eat the lump crab cakes. I am guessing there was far more fat in it than I realized. I was in so much pain, plus dry heaving over the toilet...but there was nothing in my pouch left to throw up because it had been so long since I ate.
I don't usually have a problem with sugars (if I accidently eat processed sugars or with natural sugars), although they will sometimes make me feela bit stoned. I do dump on too much fat and it is NOT a happy place to be. I have only had one other serious dump and that one lasted 3 hours...it was so bad I had my surgeon paged on a Friday night because I thought there was something really wrong
It was a case of me NOT thinking before I ate something. I was so focused on choosing low sugar that I never thought about the fat content!
I do get things stuck (and then throw up with the foamies) when I eat too fast or don't chew well enough and there are some foods that my pouch just doesn't like no matter how well I chew, but I don't consider that dumping.
I was starting to think that I was going to turn into a non-dumper since things have been going so well, so in a way I am happy this happened today. I think I was becoming a little to laid back about everything over the holidays, so this was the kick in the pants that I needed.
I am constantly amazed at how my pouch, and what he tolerates or can hold, changes from day to day or meal to meal. I will have the same snack two days in a row but the volume will be drastically different from one day to the next. Or, one day chicken will sit just fine and the next day it will cause a huge upset to Oscar (my pouch). It certainly keeps me on my toes!
How is everyone else doing?
Heather

I was thinking I was the only one. For a little over a week I have been at the same weight or fluctuated a pound or two. I hope I start seeing the scale go down again. I have lost 80 pounds in three months but am still so far from my goal. Good luck to everyone.

My scar is 3 1/2 inches long and I'm black, so it's brown and about 1 shade darker than my skin. It doesn't hurt, but sometimes if I do something that may strain my stomach muscle, like lift my daughter, it hurts a tad bit, but nothing to write home about. I think it looks pretty amazing.
